Seniors Michael Esswein, Ben Ryan, and Nathan Szewczyk led by Coach Dan Didier placed first in state out of 53 teams in the Missouri High School Cyber Security Challenge. The school was presented with a $5,000 check and each student offered more than $12,000 in college scholarships and an internship with the Defense Information Systems Agency.
Graduation Orders
Jostens will be at school tomorrow, October 18, for Seniors to place orders during lunch for graduation announcements, caps and gowns, and other graduation accessories. Students received catalogs and order forms October 10. Every Senior must at least order his cap, gown, and tassel with the cost of Package 5 already covered in our school fees.
40 Days for Life
October is observed by the Catholic Church as Respect Life Month. It is a time for us to pray and reflect on the sanctity of all human life . We invite students and parents to join us at Planned Parenthood on Thursday, October 24, to stand for life. Visit the Prolife Club website to register by Monday, October 21.
Book of Remembrance
We keep a Book of Remembrance in our chapel to honor those who have departed. We invite you to submit the names of your loved ones online by Thursday, October 31, to be included in the book. Names submitted in the past will also be remembered when we come together as a Marianist community to pray for your dearly departed at our all-school Mass on November 1 and throughout the month of November.

Whether you attended or not, we would appreciate your feedback on last week's Parent-Teacher Conferences. The online survey should take less than five minutes to complete.

We texted parents on Monday, October 14, regarding our Intruder Drill. If you did not receive these texts, please text “Y” or “Yes” to 67587 from your mobile phone. If we have your mobile number, you will receive a confirmation text almost immediately. If you do not receive a confirmation, please visit Blackbaud to update your mobile number as needed.
Parent Network Speaker
The Parent Network of Catholic High Schools in Saint Louis invites parents to hear Sarah Swafford, the founder of Emotional Virtue Ministries. She will present at Visitation Academy on Tuesday, November 5, at 7 pm. Learn how to navigate your relationship with your teenager and build his interior confidence. Sarah is a graduate of Benedictine College and involved in ministry for more than a decade.
Parents' Club Meeting
Our second Parents' Club meeting of the school year is Thursday, November 7, at 7 pm in Griffins' Cafe. We will host a speaker on Student Stress.
Join us for Lt. Dan Riordan Trivia Night which benefits the scholarship fund established in his memory. Doors open at 6 pm on Saturday, November 9, with trivia beginning at 7 pm. Visit the registration page to reserve tables for ten and for sponsorship opportunities.
Griffin Theatre
Griffin Theatre presents "Peter and the Starcatcher" November 14-16 at 7:30 pm and November 17 at 2 pm. T he play is based on a 2004 novel that provides a backstory for the characters of Peter Pan, Mrs. Darling, Tinker Bell, and Captain Hook. Senior Quilt Squares
Senior parents should return completed quilt squares for the Senior Class Quilt by Monday, November 25. Send your quilt square during school hours to Lisa Hackett at the front desk. If you have questions, please contact Lisa at  lhackett@vianney.com .
Senior Lock-In
Thank you to all who supported our Music Trivia Night last Saturday to benefit the Senior Lock-In. It was one of our most successful trivia events to date! Senior families will receive a letter from Dennis Matreci in the weeks ahead with the final cost to register for the Senior Lock-In.

DID YOU KNOW?
Our band students spent October 15 with fellow musicians at Chaminade College Preparatory School and St. Mary's High School. They took master classes with guest conductor Dr. Gary Gackstatter. Band students from all three Marianist schools came together at the end of the day to perform for family and friends.
