Register online for more information and the informational meeting on Tuesday, October 15, 5:30-6:30 pm in Griffins' Cafe.
Music Trivia Night
It's not too late to join us October 12 for a unique music trivia event that benefits the Graduation Lock In for the Class of 2020. Doors open at 6:30 pm with trivia beginning at 7 pm. It's $25 per person or $200 for a table of eight. Contact us at vianneytrivia2019@gmail.com for more information and to register.
Senior Parent Donations
Senior parents are asked to make a $25 donation of gift cards for Music Trivia Night. Gift cards should be sent in an envelope with the student's name on it. They can be delivered now through October 10 to the Main Office or Dennis Matreci in the Leadership Center. We have ample beer donations, which should be brought to our concession stand in the commons by parents on Thursday, October 10, between 5 and 7 pm.

Volunteers will be contacted by email with instructions for Music Trivia Night. We can still use more Seniors to help that evening. Thank you to those who have agreed to volunteer and donated gift cards and beer.
Mother-Son Mass & Brunch
Students and their mothers are invited for the annual Mother-Son Mass and Brunch on Sunday, October 13, at St. John Vianney High School. Mass is at 9:30 am followed immediately by a complimentary brunch. Please register by October 9 to ensure an accurate count for the food.
Testing Day | No Late Start
On Wednesday, October 16, Juniors and select Sophomores take national tests.  Classes begin at 7:45 am instead of the usual Wednesday start of 9 am.  Dismissal is 11:30 am. That afternoon, National Honor Society hosts the Academic Tournament of Champions for grade school students.

Seniors have the day off--a great opportunity for college visits. All Freshmen attend regular classes as do Sophomores not scheduled for the PSAT. Testing room assignments will be posted at school on Friday, October 11.

Sophomores and Juniors taking the PSAT have all been notified via email by Dennis Matreci and received the PSAT Student Guide from their counselors. These students must report to classrooms in the 100 Corridor by 7:45 am on October 16.

Any Juniors not taking the PSAT will report to classrooms in the 300 Corridor to take a Practice ACT. These test scores will not appear on your transcripts but are used by your counselors during the college admission process which begins later this year for Juniors.

Wednesday, October 16, Schedule:
  • B period   7:45 to 8:40 am
  • C period   8:45 to 9:35 am
  • D period   9:40 to 10:30 am

ADMISSIONS WEEK

We will ask our students to write notes to middle schoolers inviting them to our Open House on November 3. We are asking our parents to share pictures and posts on Facebook about the positive impact Vianney has had on your sons. We also ask that you share the following with family and friends:
For the first time, 5th and 6th grade students can spend a day on Vianney’s campus to experience life as a Griffin. We are only accepting 60 students, so register now for Friday, October 11, from 7:45 am to 1 pm.
8th Grade Shadow Visit | 8th grade students take two classes with a certified Griffin Guide, participate in the Character and Accomplishment Workshop with Mr. Kevin Walsh, and get a FREE lunch in the world famous Griffins' Cafe.
Merit Scholarship Testing | Vianney offers $1,500 and $2,500 merit scholarships. If 7th or 8th grade test scores are close, students can make one more attempt to qualify on Vianney's campus on Saturday, October 5, from 9 am to noon.
