Experts in health and fitness, including alumni who have founded their own businesses, met with our students this week for a Wellness Fair. Congratulations to Ryker Stiegman '21 and Marko Mrnjavac '23 for winning the Assault Bike Challenge by 1st Phorm.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Conferences will be held virtually Tuesday, October 13, 5-7 pm and Wednesday, October 14, 8-11 am and 12-3 pm. Parents should register online with each of your son's teachers.
Mother-Son Masses
Mother-Son Mass is Tuesday, October 20, for Junior and Senior moms and Wednesday, October 21, for Freshman and Sophomore moms. Mothers with multiple sons at Vianney can choose to attend one or both 7:15 am Masses in the Field House. Health screening and masks are required while on campus. Please register to ensure we safely accommodate everyone and prepare enough grab-and-go breakfasts.
Father-Son BBQ
We invite fathers and their Griffins to join us at Don Heeb Stadium Sunday, October 25, from 11 am-2 pm for an afternoon filled with BBQ, bags tournaments, and big-screen sports. We respectfully ask that families not bring alcohol to the event. Health screening and masks are required while on campus. The cost is $10 per family.
The outdoor event is in lieu of this semester's Father-Son Banquet. We may be able to host the Father-Son Banquet next semester if a venue can safely accommodate all of our guests.
Auditions for It's a Wonderful Life
Auditions for It's a Wonderful Life, a live radio play by Joe Landry, are tonight October 8, at 6:30 pm in the Activity Center. Students should be prepared for cold readings with roles for six men and two women. Face masks are required; bring a resume if you have one. Rehearsals will be Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons with performances November 19-22. Contact Al Book at if you have any questions.
Kickoff with Kyren
The October 10 event is cancelled for Juniors and Seniors. We are exploring alternative events that better meet our upperclassmen's interests.

  • There is NO SCHOOL Wednesday, October 14, unless a student is taking the PSAT that day. Families are notified by email if their Sophomore or Junior is taking the test.

  • Thursday, October 15, is a Lion Day with Freshmen & Sophomores learning ON CAMPUS and Juniors & Seniors learning ONLINE.

  • There is NO SCHOOL Friday, October 16, for Seniors; they are encouraged to explore colleges that day. It is an Eagle Day for all other students with 11:30 am DISMISSAL. Freshmen & Sophomores are ONLINE while Juniors are ON CAMPUS for the Practice ACT.

Black and Gold Spirit Day
Students may wear official Vianney logo clothing Thursday, October 29, and Friday, October 30. Halloween costumes are welcome as long as students continue to wear their COVID masks.

What happens when the spirit of a Griffin meets the heart of a Jaguar? You will have to enter our 1999 Jaguar XJ8 Raffle to find out! Buy one ticket for $50 or three tickets for $100 for a chance to win this luxury car. It is in excellent condition and was detailed for you after passing inspection in July.

We encourage Juniors and Seniors to register for the flu vaccine by this Monday, October 12. The final round will be administered by the Visiting Nurse Association of Greater St. Louis on Tuesday, October 20.
To receive the vaccine, you must also complete the appropriate consent form and bring it along with your health insurance card.

FAFSA Presentation
Senior families are invited to listen to David Rice from Saint Louis University explain the Free Application for Federal Student Aid process. The application is open now to Seniors and is required by most colleges if you want to apply for financial aid or work on campus.
ACT Prep Course  
If you would like to prepare for the December ACT, Sarah Kheriaty is hosting a Zoom course beginning November 4. It is $350 per student with a $50 discount if a sibling previously took her course.
