Family Doctor Journal Seeking Authors

Our spring 2024 issue in April will address

"Hospital Medicine for Family Physicians"

Our spring 2024 issue will focus on the management of patients by family physicians in the hospital setting.

Potential topics should include clinical updates and conditions commonly encountered by family physicians such as: acute management of stroke, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, DVT, sepsis, pyelonephritis, acute GI bleed, psychiatric conditions requiring hospital management and de-escalation techniques in the hospital.

Potential topics should focus on evidence-based approaches and include current references, including those from relevant family medicine literature.

Potential authors are required to submit a short abstract (1-2 paragraphs) of their proposed topic for review by our editorial board, prior to an invitation for the submission of an initial draft. Abstracts should briefly address the following:

1) How is this topic relevant to family medicine in general, or throughout

    NYS?

2) What new information or unique perspective does this topic or information

    provide?

3) How will this information change family medicine practice and/or what are

    your primary conclusions?

Abstracts are due no later than January 23, 2024

Our first drafts will be due on or before February 23, 2024, with final drafts due on or before March 22, 2024.

Our summer 2024 issue in July will focus on “Vector-borne Diseases". Additional details to come.
