UofSC Families!

The summer months are going quickly! It has been wonderful to welcome new students to orientation this summer. We are excited to welcome the new parents and family members who have joined our community. August will be here before we know it, so take time this month to help your student get organized for the new academic year. Encouraging students to think ahead of what they need to get done, such as creating a budget plan, ordering textbooks, and starting to pack can get them ahead of their to-do list. This month is a great time to discuss expectations with your student from creating a communication plan to setting realistic academic goals will allow you and your student to get on the same page before they come back to UofSC for the fall.

Family Weekend registration opens July 6 at 10 a.m. (EDT), so be sure to mark your calendar! This truly is a university-wide tradition to make great Gamecock memories with your student. The schedule of events are coming together and we hope you will consider joining us for fun-filled weekend! I hope you and your family have a great July!

If you or your student have questions throughout the summer, please reach out to the Office of Parent and Family Programs by phone (800-868-6752) or email ([email protected]). We're here to help!
