Happy holidays from the Global Family Enterprise Program! This week our entertainment recommendations revolve around family enterprises and the holiday season.

  • You've Got Mail: In this charming seasonal love story, Kathleen Kelly (played by Meg Ryan) is the owner of a small struggling family-owned independent bookstore who has recently started an online relationship with a mystery man. Little does she know that the mystery man is Joe Fox (played by Tom Hanks) the owner of the family-owned corporation, Foxbooks. What happens when two family businesses collide?

  • Noelle: If If you're looking for a fun family holiday story, Noelle is a great choice! In this succession story, Santa Claus has decided to retire. But instead of picking his daughter Noelle Kringle (played by Anna Kendrick), who loves all things Christmas, he picks his son Nick Kringle (played by Bill Hader. When Nick runs away to Phoenix, Arizona, to become a yoga teacher, it's up to Noelle to retrieve Nick and save Christmas.

  • Arthur Christmas: Meet the family that makes Christmas happen! Every Christmas Santa is able to successfully deliver toys around the world with the help of his family: Mrs. Claus, Grandpa Claus, Steve (eldest son), and Arthur (youngest). But this Christmas is special because this year it's up to Arthur to save the Christmas family enterprise. This delightful animated film features the voices of several noted British actors, including Bill Nighy, Hugh Laurie, James McAvoy and Imelda Staunton.
