Advocacy Network on Disabilities: Upcoming Trainings

  • Successful Inclusion of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): Part 2. The online Introduction to Successful Inclusion of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder Part 1 (below) must be completed prior to registering for this training. An interactive, experiential opportunity to develop visual schedules, practice American Sign Language, and create and tell Social Stories. Learn how to create a sensory friendly environment, keep children safe, and use literature to foster acceptance and understanding.

Online Trainings

  • Discovering Inclusion For new staff, and/or those with little or no previous knowledge about youth with disabilities. This workshop introduces various types of disabilities, identifies the characteristics and benefits of an inclusive program, and provides information on using People First Language and respectful etiquette.
  • Introduction to Successful Inclusion of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) - Part 1 What is Autism Spectrum Disorder? Learn how to help children meet behavioral expectations, recognize and accommodate those with sensory sensitivities, foster social competence, address bullying, and ensure a safe environment.

Are you looking for sports coaches that can help mentor youth from low-income communities? Our 2019-20 Call for Partnerships (CFP) is now available ( https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SEup2uscoach) for nonprofit organizations to join our Up2Us Sports member network. This is a GREAT way to gain access to sports coaches trained in positive youth development who work directly with community youth and help them reach their potential!
CLEAR Miami: Climate Resilience Leadership Training
Catalyst Miami is recruiting for their next cohort of CLEAR Miami, Community Leadership on the Environment, Advocacy, and Resilience. This is a free 10-week leadership training course around community organizing, social justice, and climate resilience specific to Miami-Dade County. The course will be held starting on Wednesday, June 12th at Touching Miami with Love: West Homestead. The class is free of charge; dinner, a youth class, and translation are all provided. Head Start Teacher *
Plans, conducts and supervises activities with a group of children ages 3 to 5 years of age. These activities will be in indoor and outdoor setting aimed at promoting physical health, approaches to learning, social, emotional, cognitive, intellectual, motor, and physical development of the children. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Pre-K or primary education, preschool education, or related field.
Education Director *
For the Head Start Program. The position requires an individual with a strong background in, and knowledge of, Head Start measurement instruments; recording of measurements, analysis and results; tracking and reporting requirements. Excellent coaching and communication skills for providing feedback to teachers consistent with CLASS are essential. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood, Director Credential, 2 years teaching, planning & training of education.
Nutrition Coordinator *
Ensures all of St. Alban's sites are in compliance with all regulatory statutes for United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Childcare Food Program (CCFP) & Head Start Nutrition Services. Administer the CCFP for the agency. Works closely with the Nutrition Consultant to ensure children identified with health related nutrition problems receive appropriate therapeutic meals. Also with the Food Service Worker/Housekeeping. Minimum qualifications: AA or AS Degree & 2 years' experience.
Early Head Start Infant and Toddler Teacher Assistant *
To support the implementation of a cognitively oriented curriculum and total management of activities for children ages 0-3. Indoor/outdoor activities aimed at promoting physical health; approaches to learning; and the social, emotional, cognitive, intellectual, motor and physical development of the children. Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma and DCF 45-hour training.

Dependency Case Manager Supervisor *
As a Dependency Case Management (DCM) Supervisor you will support our growing needs for child case management services.
