Sermon:

"Imperfect but Devoted"

Sacred Text:

1 Samuel 17:2-12

A Word from Rev. Ray

This Sunday, we begin a new sermon series titled “Imperfect but Devoted,” exploring the life of David—a man whose story reminds us that God often chooses the unlikely to do the extraordinary.

Our first message, “Chosen Beyond Reason,” invites us to reflect on David’s unexpected call to be king. He wasn’t the obvious choice, but he was God’s choice. And in that truth, we find hope for our own lives.

Like David, we are shaped by the challenges we face. Sometimes, the very moments that feel too heavy to bear become the ones that reveal our deepest strength. In those seasons, it can be powerful to shift our perspective and ask, “God, what might You do with this?”

Whether you’re walking through uncertainty, wrestling with purpose, or simply seeking encouragement, David’s story offers a reminder: God sees beyond what others see. And God is always at work—even in the messiness of our lives.

We hope you’ll join us this Sunday as we begin this journey together. May David’s devotion, despite his imperfections, inspire us to trust more deeply and walk more boldly in faith.
