What We Learned Last Sunday

Learning and Fun

In Children’s Time we learned that, according to Jesus and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, we can all be Great every single day, just by serving one another. In Sunday school, we talked about Jesus’ first miracle - when he turned water into wine.

Coming Up This Sunday

Learning and Fun (After the Children's Message)

We will learn about how Jesus was tempted in the desert.

Coming Up February 2

Service Project & Communion

For February, we are going to try something new! We will combine Service Sunday with Communion Sunday. Instead of first going to worship with their parents, kids will sign in and then head straight to the education wing. We will begin work on our service project right away, and then come in as a group for communion. After being served communion, kids will return to the education wing where parents will pick them up!

Our service projects for February will be centered around spreading love far and wide. We will create care packages for our college students, and make Valentines for our students that we sponsor through Common Hope as well as our congregation members that are homebound!

Joyful Noise Update

Upcoming Schedule

Joyful Noise will meet in the Border Chapel at 11:40 for some ringing and Orff playing. Grab brunch after worship with your families and then head over to the Border Chapel! Reminder that drop off and pick up will be in the Border Chapel. Rehearsal goes until 12:30.

A reminder that we will be singing together on Sunday, February 9th with a saxaphone quartet!

Souper Bowl Sunday!

February 9, 2025

Our brunch crew has a special menu and a special ministry planned for Super/Souper Bowl Sunday!

We’ll enjoy a special menu of soup, bread, chicken tenders, and mac & cheese to get ready for the Big Game. And to help add some warmth to the bellies of others, we will collect pop top cans of soup to share with our neighbors that join us on the 1st and 5th Sundays each month for Community Meals. You may bring in your soup donations anytime between now and February 9th!

Crafternoon

Calling all crafters! Between 1 and 4pm on January 25, you, HAUMC members and friends aged 12 and up, are invited to join other crafters in the Longfellow room for fun, fellowship (and snacks!) and working on projects. Either come with your own current craft or needlework project or choose from options provided. There will be materials and guidance available if you would like to make friendship bracelets; learn to knit or crochet; help tie a quilt to give to a local agency; stuff a bear to be given to a newly baptized HAUMC child; use a knitting frame to make a cap for an Emerson School child who may not have one; or knit or crochet a prayer shawl to be given in support and care for a Hennepin member.
