We can't wait to welcome our Dolphins to campus on Monday, August 10 for the first day of school. 

We are so excited about the opportunities that the 26 - 27 school year brings and can't wait to begin our journey TOGETHER!

As you saw Friday, our teachers have worked hard to prepare classrooms, our Facility Team has worked incredibly hard to prepare the building and our staff has worked to build safety processes to ensure the success of each and every student in our building.  

I wanted to send some reminders to our community as we start the year!

• Mandatory district paperwork- message I sent through ParentSquare! I had many families asking about the mandatory paperwork and just wanted to make sure everyone knows where to find the information. Please return the required paperwork on Monday with your student(s).

• Florida HB 1105 - the use of any wireless communication devices(cell phones, smart watches, ear buds, etc) by elementary and middle school students is strictly prohibited during the school day(no use on school campus).

Please remind your student(s) ALL students will be required to place any wireless device in their backpacks upon entering the school campus.  

• EBikes/Bicycles/Scooter Helmet law and updates - please see below regarding helmet requirements and EBike updates

In addition, the weather forecast for the first few days of school indicates an excessive heat warning. Please be assured that we monitor the weather to ensure safe conditions for outdoor activities and will limit outdoor activities on days with excessive heat warnings.

Thank you for choosing to partner in your child's education. At PIA we will ALWAYS make every decision in the best interest of our students. I would ask that as we join together this year, please communicate with us in a positive, proactive way to ensure our work together keeps our learning environment moving forward FOR ALL!

Clinic Updates

Prescription medication/forms drop-off in the clinic:

• Drop off anytime M-F 7:30AM - 2:30PM. (No appointment needed)
• All prescription medications MUST be brought in the original, labeled pharmacy container and MUST BE brought in by an adult (not by the student).
• Medication forms must be filled out and signed by prescribing PCP. Forms are available on the PIA website under "Departments" tab or click the link for direct access -PIA CLINIC INFORMATION

• SJCSD has a new protocol to keep families informed of food related ctivities happening in classrooms.
• Teachers will be sending home the permission form in the next few weeks.

Elementary PE Reminder -

• For your child’s safety and full participation in Physical Education, it’s important that they wear sneakers on PE days.
• Shoes like slides, sandals, boots, Crocs, or dress shoes can increase the risk of injury and may limit their ability to join in. If proper footwear isn’t worn, your child will have to sit out for the day’s activities.

Middle School PE Uniforms and Lockers for 26 - 27 School Year

• It is that time of year again to Order your PE Uniform and PE Locker(both links are located on the flyer below)
• All Middle School students taking PE are required to have a uniform. The uniform consists of a dry-fit shirt and shorts.
• Any other student or parent are welcome to purchase these items.
• The deadline to order is August 26, 2026.
