Welcome to Red Ribbon Week! A week filled with fun and school spirit. See below for details.

We will focus on character messages that remind us of our WAVE commitment at PIA - We are Respectful, Always Responsible and Safe, Value each other and ourselves, where EVERYONE ACHIEVES. Although dressing up is fun, the message highlighting great character supports our vision.

This week we we also celebrate our Bus Drivers. I think we could all agree we have the GREATEST drivers at PIA! Our drivers are the first people our students greet in the mornings and it makes a difference when you have people that love our students greeting them each morning. Please help us in celebrating these wonderful people that help keep our students safe and happy each day!

Also, as we look forward into November, one of our most treasured traditions, honoring our women and men of service. This year we will honor these amazing individuals at a Veteran's Day Concert.

CHARACTER PUMPKINS

ARE COMING TO PIA!



• Your child may deliver the pumpkin to the Media Center on Monday, 10/28 or parents may leave the pumpkin in the office where the pumpkins will be gathered and delivered to the Media Center.
• All pumpkins can be picked up on Thursday, Oct. 31 between 3:00 and 3:30. Any unclaimed pumpkins will be removed from the building and disposed of promptly.
• Be creative when creating your pumpkin storybook character. 
• Please DO NOT CARVE the pumpkin.

The AMAZING SHAKE CLub-

• 4th - 8th grade students only
• The Amazing Shake Club at Pine Island Academy aims to help students develop leadership, confidence, and communication skills.
• Meeting every Thursday, the club will focus on essential skills students can apply to their future professional careers—like giving a proper handshake, networking effectively, acing interviews, and staying composed under pressure.

Fall Picture Retakes & New Student Pictures - Nov. 6

• Individual Fall Retakes and photos for new students will be on Wednesday, November 6.
• Reminder: the packet of pictures you purchased must be returned in order to have a retake taken.
• Any new students and students who were absent on the original will also have a picture taken.

Veteran's Day Concert Invite

PIA Families,

We could not be more excited this year to honor our Veteran's at the first annual PIA Veteran's Concert performed by our Pine Island Band on Thursday, November 7 @ 6:30PM in the PIA CAFE! The Dolphin Band is led by Mr. Stephen Panoff and together they have put together a special night of music to honor our men and women of service.

We are extending a special invite to our families and their Veteran! Please click on the invitation for more details on how to participate in this special event! The deadline to register is Friday, October 25!
