MSCS is hosting its first Back-to-School Parade! Please join us at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at 160 S. Hollywood. Giveaways and voter registration opportunities will be on site!

During the period beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1, and ending Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 11:59 p.m., food and food ingredients are exempt from sales tax.  


Sales of prepared food, dietary supplements, candy, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco are not included in items exempt during this period. CLICK HERE for more information.

MSCS Back-to-School Family Festival sees record attendance

MSCS saw a record 7,274 people attending the annual Family Fun Festival.



Thousands of families registered for school and received free immunizations. The District also distributed more than 5,000 backpacks loaded with school supplies. Thanks to donations from SchoolSeed, Milwaukee Tools, Walmart, and other sponsors, 1,200 families received three NEW school outfits per child, including pants, skirts, shirts, dresses, jeans, underwear, and shoes!
 

The MSCS family is made up of newsmakers! From our students and teachers to our coaches and support staff, everyone in Memphis-Shelby County Schools has a story.
