As the MSCS 2023 graduation season begins, we are spotlighting some of our exceptional seniors. These students exemplify this year’s theme, “The Class of 2023: We Stand Out.” As they prepare to embark on their next endeavors, we celebrate their accomplishments and are inspired by their reflections and aspirations for the future.

Cierra Copeland, a graduating senior from Mitchell High, shares her story and her dreams for the future. She is in the Top 10 of her class and has received over $1.4 million in scholarships. She plans to become a nurse and an esthetician to help others reach the best of their capacity while feeling confident within themselves.

Malachi Benton, a graduating senior from Memphis Virtual School, has been nominated for a $1,000 grant to aid in his entrepreneurial journey. After high school, Malachi intends to attend a two-year trade school and become an entrepreneur.

We are hosting the inaugural MSCS Salutes Roads to Excellence: Honoring Our Seniors' New Beginnings event that will celebrate our students and their post-secondary endeavors.

The event will include college and career recruiters, vendors, senior gifts (for those who signed up), and of course, families and friends ready to cheer our graduates on!

The senior celebration will take place May 12 from 4 pm to 6:30 pm at the Board of Education.

The MSCS family is made up of newsmakers! From our students and teachers to our coaches and support staff, everyone in Memphis-Shelby County Schools has a story. We are committed to showcasing those stories!
