MSCS Celebrates The Class of 2023

“Seniors, as you enter your next chapter of life, have confidence knowing that you can do anything in this world that you desire,” said Superintendent Toni Williams. “You will always be a part of the MSCS family. We are all rooting for you!”

MSCIAA Tennis Championship

Teams from across the District represented their schools in the Class A and Class AA MSCIAA Tennis district championships. This was a great opportunity for the athletes to showcase their talents for college coaches looking to recruit.

As the MSCS 2023 graduation season continues, we are spotlighting some of our exceptional seniors. These students exemplify this year’s theme, “The Class of 2023: We Stand Out.” As they prepare to embark on their next endeavors, we celebrate their accomplishments and are inspired by their reflections and aspirations for the future.

Mariza Castaneda Sanchez, a Memphis native, was raised in Des Moines, Iowa, and moved back to Memphis in 2014. Throughout her journey at Craigmont High School, Mariza has achieved greatness by working hard and combining skills such as prioritization, goal setting, time-tracking, delegation, and minimizing distractions.

Pedro Alvarez believes the best way to see the future is to create it, and he’s been laying the foundation with a 4.0 GPA since he entered high school. Pedro is a little reserved and lets his grades to the talking, but in our conversation with him, we learned that he is committed to building his leadership skills and utilizing his talents.

The MSCS family is made up of newsmakers! From our students and teachers to our coaches and support staff, everyone in Memphis-Shelby County Schools has a story. We are committed to showcasing those stories!
