MSCS Partners with Local Organizations to Help Students 'See the Future'

An African proverb says it clearly: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” This short but impactful phrase summarizes the essence of the commitment between Memphis-Shelby County Schools and its partners to help students have a successful school year and academic career.

In a series of uplifting events, MSCS joined forces with local organizations to enhance the educational landscape for students across the district. From new learning spaces to literacy initiatives, the community-focused efforts are already making a positive impact.

As Memphis-Shelby County Schools works to maintain success with our district-wide technological revolution, it is important that all students have the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve.

The Digital Citizenship course offered on Canvas will provide information to help students use the internet for positive interaction, enhancement, and reinforcement while teaching them safety precautions and maintaining online health.

The Department of Family and Community Engagement (FACE) will be hosting a free Driver’s License Expungement Clinic conducted in Spanish. This event aims to assist all families within our school district who may benefit from this service, especially those affected by unpaid court fees.

St. Jude Walk/Run Kickoff

MSCS students teamed up with St. Jude to raise money and raise energy for better health! The world-renowned hospital hosted its annual Walk/Run on Sept. 30, but not before stopping by A. Maceo Walker Middle School for a pre-workout party!

Mental Health Awareness Day

Families were able to end September on a calm note during Mental Health Awareness Day! From serene sounds to hikes to candid conversations, the young and young-at-heart connected with each other and with nature at the Wolf River Greenway.

The MSCS family is made up of newsmakers! From our students and teachers to our coaches and support staff, everyone in Memphis-Shelby County Schools has a story.

NOTE FROM NUTRITION SERVICES: MSCS and school districts around the county – as well as nearly every other industry – are facing food supply chain interruptions.

In response, our Nutrition Services Department has taken immediate measures to mitigate the impact by monitoring and tracking shipments through open communication with our logistics providers.

A delay may affect menu selections and the availability of products/supplies. We are working diligently to remedy this situation and thank you for your patience and understanding.

MSCS Nutrition Services is responsible for all District cafeterias, serving breakfast and lunch to 105,000 students daily. Click here to view the meals being served at your child's school.
