Introducing Friends of CRCC

We’re excited to introduce Friends of CRCC — a new community of volunteers, advocates and supporters who believe in helping children and families thrive.

Friends of CRCC brings together people who want to make a meaningful difference at Connected Roots Care Center. Friends help strengthen our mission by volunteering at events and activities, sharing our story in the community and supporting programs that provide inclusive early education, therapy services, skilled nursing and family resources.

This inaugural year is a special opportunity to help build a strong network of champions who uplift the children, families and staff who make CRCC such a special place. Do you know someone who may want to join? Direct them to our website!

NW Renovation

Renovation work is continuing at Connected Roots Care Center, and we are excited to share that Phase 2 is now in progress. This phase focuses on improvements to our Head Start and Infant classrooms, helping us create updated spaces that better support early learning, comfort and care.

While renovations always bring a bit of extra activity, our team is working carefully to minimize disruptions and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for children and families.

We look forward to sharing more progress as the work continues!

Staff Spotlight

Meet Naomi!

Naomi is a Physical Therapy Assistant here at CRCC.

An Omaha native, Naomi has always called this community home and recently celebrated a joyful new chapter, getting married this past October. Her path to becoming a physical therapist assistant began early. After experiencing physical therapy herself following gymnastics injuries, a high school career exploration class confirmed what she already suspected: she wanted a career in healthcare where she could help others thrive.

Today, she brings creativity and heart to every session, finding engaging ways to help children build skills and confidence.

“I love being a PTA because it allows me to be creative. I like the challenge of finding different ways to keep kids engaged and help them enjoy physical therapy. My favorite thing is to see them gain new skills and learn to do more than they could before!”

Her connection to Connected Roots Care Center started before she officially joined the team. After shadowing and later completing a clinical placement here, she knew it was exactly where she wanted to be.

“I genuinely love each of the kids I get to work with, and spending time with them every day is a big part of why I enjoy my job.”

Outside of work, she enjoys cooking and baking, a passion she once turned into a cupcake business with her younger sister during high school. These days, cookies are her specialty.

Meet Jenna!

Jenna is a Physical Therapist here at CRCC.

Born and raised in Beatrice, Jenna grew up in a close-knit family as the youngest of three.

She earned her degree in Nutrition, Exercise, and Health Sciences with a minor in Psychology from the UNL before going on to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at UNMC.

Now part of the Connected Roots Care Center team, she brings both clinical expertise and heartfelt connection to every session.

“Every session is an opportunity to connect, encourage, and celebrate progress together—whether it’s a first step, a new skill, or simply learning to try again. Being a part of their journey, supporting both the children and their families, and witnessing their resilience and joy is what makes my job truly rewarding!”

This past June, she married her husband, Casey, an agricultural engineer. Together, they stay busy with their energetic one-year-old goldendoodle, Finn.

Outside of work, she enjoys time with family and friends, walking her dog, hitting the golf course, and visiting the Lake of the Ozarks whenever she can — her favorite place to relax and recharge.
