HOPE DOES NOT DISAPPOINT.

This year Bishop Shanahan High School celebrates the spiritual theme "Hope does not disappoint," as we prepare for the Jubilee Year of Hope. Join us in prayer each Sunday as we share quotes from the Psalms, Saints, and more!

FROM THE PRESIDENT

Catholic Schools Week is a great time to invest in Bishop Shanahan!

This week we celebrate Catholic Schools Week. All members of a Catholic school community share the Christian vision of faith that Christ is the foundation of Catholic education, and this is what unites the school as a faith-filled community. Together Shanahan teachers, administrators, staff, students and parents work side by side to keep faith and knowledge at the forefront of the Shanahan student experience. In honor of Catholic Schools Week, show your love for Shanahan! Click here to give to the Shanahan Fund and help us continue this important mission!

PRESIDENT & PRINCIPAL

Catholic Schools Week

As we open Catholic Schools Week Dr. Moran and Mrs. Dellicompagni would like to thank all of the students, families, faculty, staff, board members, alumni, and generous donors who are a part of our Catholic School Community. Thank you for choosing to be a part of our community. Thank you for the sacrifices you make to support Catholic Education. May the Lord Bless you all this week and every day after. This week we celebrate being United in Faith and Community.

MINISTRY OFFICE

Relics of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina

PADRE PIO’S RELICS ARE COMING TO OUR AREA! Come to Our Lady of the Rosary Church on Wednesday, February 12th, for the unbelievable opportunity to spend time with Padre Pio. Five very rare relics of one of the greatest saints of our time will be available for veneration on this day.

The relics will be on display in the church from 10:00am to 6:30pm. A short presentation will be given at 6:30pm, followed by Mass at 7:00pm. After Mass, the relics will be kept available for viewing until 9pm.

Holy Hour

All are welcome to attend a Holy Hour in the school chapel on January 30th at 7:00 PM. The evening will include Eucharistic Adoration with Praise and Worship Music. There will be light refreshments available after the devotions.

STUDENT SERVICES

Early Dismissals

Early dismissals should be communicated to the Attendance Office by 9 AM. Early dismissals are recorded to alert teachers of the time that students will be leaving their classroom. Students are expected to leave the classroom at the proper time on their own. We want to avoid calling into classrooms to diminish any disruption to the class. Students will sign out in the Attendance Office before meeting their ride at the main entrance.

**Those who pick up students after 2 PM, should meet them in the pick-up line to avoid being blocked in by school buses.

Students who leave school before 11:30 AM and do not return to school, will not receive credit for attending school due to an insufficient number of hours required for a school day.

A doctor's note should be handed in to the Attendance office the next school day for their early dismissal.

Drop Off Lane and Parking Lot

Parents are to use the Drop Off/Pick Up Lane in the morning and afternoon. Please do not drive through the student lot. Parent drivers have been reported to be speeding and driving in an unsafe manner through the lot by our students. Your assistance is greatly appreciated in keeping our community safe.

Label Your Belongings

Lost items are kept in the Student Services (Attendance) Office. We have a number of unclaimed lunch bags and water bottles on a weekly basis. It would be a great help to us if these items were marked with a student’s name. We suggest that you especially mark book bags, water bottles, and lunch bags and whatever else can be marked. Many boys' trousers, belts, and sweaters go unclaimed in the locker rooms after games and are eventually added to our loaner supply; other items are donated to Green Drop if they are not claimed after two weeks.
