Health Room Procedures
The nurse provides emergency first aid care for accidents/illnesses that occur at school. That being the case, no student should report to the office right after arriving at school. The nurse’s office will be open to students at 9 AM (emergencies and accidents are exceptions). Under no circumstance is a student to call home for transportation because of illness. Students need permission to contact parents during the school day. The school nurse will evaluate the health of the student and decide upon the care needed. If the school nurse or administrator deems it necessary for a student to go home, a school phone will be used to contact a parent.
