Thanksgiving Food Drive
Thank you for your support of the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive! Through your kindness and generosity with donations of funding and non-perishable goods, we were able to assist over 70 local families in need this year.

Christmas Craft Show
Christmas is coming!! Bishop Shanahan is excited to host the Annual Christmas Craft Show THIS Saturday, December 7th, 9am-2pm. Join us and shop from more than 175 handmade crafters and vendors. Admission fee is $5. We are still in need of volunteers.

Special Collection for St. Francis of Assisi
As you have likely heard, St. Francis of Assisi School in Springfield suffered a devastating fire last month. As their community recovers, the Bishop Shanahan community wants to show our support for our brothers and sisters in Christ. During our school-wide Advent liturgy on Friday December 20, a collection will be held; all proceeds will benefit the St. Francis of Assisi school community. We encourage our students and families to be generous; we are People of God; People for Others! (Checks can be made out to Bishop Shanahan, note St. Francis collection in memo)

Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe
On Thursday, December 12th, Our Lady of the Rosary Parish will be hosting the celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas. Archbishop Nelson will precede mass at 6:00 pm, and a reenacting of the apparition and reception will follow in Romano Hall. All are welcome!

Health Screenings
Health Screenings which include height, weight, hearing, and vision will take place on Tuesday, December 3rd, and Wednesday, December 4th. All Students should wear their prescribed contacts or bring their glasses to their screening. Students will be called down by their homeroom.

Yearbook Orders
Online yearbook orders are now open! Click here to place your order. The cost is $76 now through December 14, 2024 and then $81 thereafter until February 28, 2025. Seniors should NOT place an order for yearbooks. Yearbooks are purchased for each senior as part of the graduation fee.

After School Academic Success
Date Change: ASAS will be held on Monday, December 2nd this week due to parent-teacher conferences. The next dates for ASAS are 12/12 and 12/18. There will be no ASAS on 1/2/25.

Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent-teacher conferences will be held via Zoom on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 3:00 pm-8:00pm. Information containing the sign up and zoom information was sent out this past week. A link to the information can be found here.

A Great Way to Make an Impact
The Tax Credit Program is the easiest way to support BSHS! Learn how to redirect your PA state taxes to BSHS. The program is a win-win in that schools receive 100% of your contribution and you receive a 90% tax credit from the Commonwealth of PA. Click HERE to learn more or contact Giving@Shanahan.org.

Basketball Game Entrance Changes
With the start of the new basketball season, all fans will be entering through the Main Entrance of the school by the bus loop.

Basketball Games Entrance Fee
All evening Boys and Girls Basketball games (JV and Varsity doubleheaders starting at 5:30) require an entrance fee of $6. All ticket sales are at the door payable with Apple Pay, Google Pay, tap-to-pay, and credit/debit cards. NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED. Tickets not needed for those age 65 and older and age 5 and under.

Attention Sophomores and Juniors!
What's it like to be a student at Notre Dame?
Current sophomores and juniors looking for a collegiate experience may consider applying to our on-campus programs in summer 2025!
Summer Scholars or Leadership Seminars allow students to live on Notre Dame’s beautiful campus for two weeks. They'll stay in a residence hall with a roommate, take a challenging college-level course, and participate in fun community-building activities in the evenings. All of this, plus students earn transferable college credits from Notre Dame!
Need-based financial aid, including application fee waivers, partial to full-tuition scholarships, and travel reimbursement, are available to students who qualify.

Attention Juniors!
The 2024-25 Coolidge Scholarship application is live and available now. The Coolidge Scholarship is a full-ride, four-year, merit scholarship that may be used by
recipients for undergraduate study at any accredited college or university in the United States. Any current high school junior who plans to enroll in college in the fall of 2026 and is an American citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply (current high school seniors are not eligible to apply).
Submission deadline: 5:00 PM Pacific time, Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

Connect Thru Cancer Scholarship for Seniors
Connect Thru Cancer (CTC) is pleased to share the 2024-2025 application for the Cammie Hall Sanders (CHS) Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship honors the life
of Cammie Hall Sanders, a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend who passed away in 2023 after a courageous twelve-year battle with breast cancer.
To be considered for the Cammie Hall Sanders Memorial Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be a local high school senior who has been impacted by cancer either personally, or by an immediate family member’s (parent/guardian/sibling) battle with cancer.
- Be able to share your personal experience with cancer and how it affected you.

Demonstrate the qualities of kindness, grace, selflessness and strength in the face of adversity, and possess characteristics consistent with Connect Thru Cancer's Core Values.

The Chester County Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will be offering two scholarships of $1,000 each: the Mary Harshbarger Scholarship and the Kozlowski Scholarship for those seniors who wish to major in nursing. Bishop Shanahan Exclusive SAT Masterclass with Franklin Yard
Franklin Yard is thrilled to be offering a BISHOP SHANAHAN-exclusive SAT Masterclass in Spring of 2025, where students will learn how to masterfully navigate both the test content and the adaptive digital format. Students will come out of the course equipped with the essential knowledge and strategies needed to excel on test day.
