HOPE DOES NOT DISAPPOINT.

This year Bishop Shanahan High School celebrates the spiritual theme "Hope does not disappoint," as we prepare for the Jubilee Year of Hope. Join us in prayer each Sunday as we share quotes from the Psalms, Saints, and more!

FROM THE PRESIDENT

NestFEST - Save the Date!

Thank you to all who provided valuable feedback from our recent survey. The consensus was for an onsite casual event, and we’re excited to announce NestFEST 2025 on Friday, May 2nd, from 7–10 PM! Get ready for a night of live music, delicious food, raffles, and more! We are excited to gather as a school community and raise funds to support all of our students. Add the date to your calendar and stay tuned for all the details!

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Inspiring Holy Hour

This past Thursday evening, Bishop Shanahan hosted its most recent Holy Hour. Students and families gathered for prayer, adoration, praise, worship, and fellowship in the presence of the Most Blessed Sacrament. It was deeply inspiring to see the overflow crowd of young people experiencing the holy presence of Jesus. Many of those assembled were 9th grade students who were encouraged by their senior "ministry mentors" to attend. This is part of a new initiative this year at Shanahan wherein small groups of freshmen meet with a senior student and adult mentor on a regular basis for time in prayer and discussions about faith.

MINISTRY OFFICE

Relics of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina

PADRE PIO’S RELICS ARE COMING TO OUR AREA! Come to Our Lady of the Rosary Church on Wednesday, February 12th, for the unbelievable opportunity to spend time with Padre Pio. Five very rare relics of one of the greatest saints of our time will be available for veneration on this day.

The relics will be on display in the church from 10:00am to 6:30pm. A short presentation will be given at 6:30pm, followed by Mass at 7:00pm. After Mass, the relics will be kept available for viewing until 9pm.

STUDENT SERVICES

Reporting Absences/Late/Early Dismissal

Parents/guardians may call the absentee line: 610-343-6260 to report an absence, an early dismissal or a late arrival. You do not need to leave the student ID number; a name is sufficient. Please leave a brief message, example: due to illness, having car trouble, accident on the highway, doctor appointment, etc. As you can imagine with 900+ students there are numerous messages to comb through each day; brevity helps to make that task easier. Emails to Mrs. Karros (ckarros@shanahan.org or Attendance@shanahan.org) or handwritten notes to the Attendance Office will also suffice. All correspondence regarding attendance should be completed by 9 AM.

Items Left in Vehicles

For safety and security reasons, students are not permitted to return to their vehicle during school for forgotten IDs, lunches, books, etc.
