HOPE DOES NOT DISAPPOINT.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Spirit of America Youth Leadership Program

Spirit of America Youth Leadership is a transformative four-day residential program that engages high school students in grades 9-12 from across the country with the first principles of freedom. Through an inspiring four-day program at Founding Forward's Valley Forge campus, students experience mock congressional debates, participate in a free enterprise challenge, visit historical sites, and engage in interactive educational activities. This immersive experience allows students to develop their critical thinking and leadership skills while understanding their responsibilities as citizens. Students live on campus during the program, identifying opportunities for future contributions to society while creating new, lasting friendships and finding common ground as Americans with peers from across the country. The program is sponsored 100% by the Connelly Foundation for Bishop Shanahan students (primarily in grades 10-11) to attend. The next program is February 20-23, and there are multiple other program dates to choose from throughout the year. See the attached flyer or click here for more information. Make sure to let Dr. Moran or Mrs. Ivkovich know if you sign up!

Relics of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina

PADRE PIO’S RELICS ARE COMING TO OUR AREA! Come to Our Lady of the Rosary Church on Wednesday, February 12th, for the unbelievable opportunity to spend time with Padre Pio. Five very rare relics of one of the greatest saints of our time will be available for veneration on this day.

The relics will be on display in the church from 10:00am to 6:30pm. A short presentation will be given at 6:30pm, followed by Mass at 7:00pm. After Mass, the relics will be kept available for viewing until 9pm.

STUDENT SERVICES

Reporting Absences/Late/Early Dismissal

Parents/guardians may call the absentee line: 610-343-6260 to report an absence, an early dismissal or a late arrival. You do not need to leave the student ID number; a name is sufficient. Please leave a brief message, example: due to illness, having car trouble, accident on the highway, doctor appointment, etc. As you can imagine with 900+ students there are numerous messages to comb through each day; brevity helps to make that task easier. Emails to Mrs. Karros (ckarros@shanahan.org or Attendance@shanahan.org) or handwritten notes to the Attendance Office will also suffice. All correspondence regarding attendance should be completed by 9 AM.

Items Left in Vehicles

For safety and security reasons, students are not permitted to return to their vehicle during school for forgotten IDs, lunches, books, etc.
