It's full steam ahead at Glenbrook Elementary!

Our classrooms are buzzing with assessments and activities as we start closing out this first full month of school. Teacher teams are meeting regularly to develop plans including interventions and enrichment opportunities to best meet the needs of their students and to finalize our October 10 Family Engagement Night. We are currently planning additional PBIS activities, a visit from a guest musician and classroom transformations for student engagement. We’re also finalizing our PTO’s Artist-in-Residence program with a local author visit to our school.

Brooke and I also promised we’d share more information about an exciting new SEL (social, emotional learning) program that our classrooms are implementing this year.

PurposeFull People is a wonderful program aimed at teaching skills that will help students be successful in school and in life. We believe that students must have safe, predictable places to learn where they feel included. Students should have healthy and helpful connections with teachers and classmates. They deserve to experience learning that will help them tackle challenges inside and outside of school.

PurposeFull People is more than just a set of lessons – it is a partnership between schools and families to create a place where students feel like they belong and learn skills that will help them be their best. There are three main goals for students: Be Kind, Be Strong and Be Well.

This year, you’ll be invited to join the fun! We will share updates about the skills and strengths being taught each month including some ways to build these skills at home, discussion starters and fun challenges you can try with your family. The path forward is full of growth! We cannot wait to partner with you in this work to...

  • Teach students how to build strong friendships.
  • Work together to solve problems, big and small.
  • Grow skills for life.
  • Become PurposeFull People.

A Raider-Strong welcome to our newest teammates.
