Meet the PSO at Fairview Elementary School!

Fairview has a vibrant Parent/Staff Organization (PSO) dedicated to strengthening the connection between school and home. The PSO encourages parental involvement in both the school and the community, working to enhance the environment at Fairview through volunteer efforts, community engagement and financial support.

Throughout the school year, the Fairview PSO organizes special events for students and families, including Donuts with Grown-Ups, Trunk or Treat and Farm Night. They also run various fundraisers to cover bussing for field trips and support initiatives that enrich our children's educational experiences. Last year, the PSO made a significant impact by funding bussing for several field trips and purchasing vertical whiteboards for our second- through fifth-grade classrooms.

Join us in supporting the PSO and helping our school thrive! Meetings are held in the Fairview library. Our next meeting will be November 12 at 5 p.m.

Our current officers include:

Kayla Lewis (President)

Jen Lambrecht (Vice-President)

Crystal Brown (Secretary)

Brittany Bastian (Treasurer)

If you want more information as to how you can get involved with the PSO please send an email to fvpsoco@gmail.com.

Did you know? Fairview is a Title 1 School.

This designation means we receive federal funding to enhance educational opportunities for all our students, particularly those from low-income backgrounds. The aim of the program is to ensure that every child has access to a high-quality education and the necessary resources to thrive. We strive to create a supportive learning environment where every child can succeed, regardless of their circumstances.

Parental involvement is a crucial aspect of our school-wide Title I plan. At Fairview, we understand that families play a more significant role in their children’s education than any teacher. Research shows that active parent involvement boosts student achievement, reduces absenteeism, increases confidence and improves behavior. As part of our Title I requirements, we will inform parents about our compact—an agreement among teachers, parents and students to work together for each child's academic success. We will share this compact during the APTT meeting on Thursday, October 10, and it will be linked in the Oct. 24 Family News.
