Hope Squad at Fairview
Our Jr. Hope Squad program is empowering students to support their peers and create a positive school environment focused on kindness, mental wellness and resilience. Through this program, students are learning how to recognize when a classmate might be struggling, how to reach out with care, and how to connect with trusted adults when needed.
Hope Squad members also receive training in anti-bullying, emotional well-being, and how to foster strong connections with others. As Myla shared, "Hope Squad is fun because I like making people smile" – showing how small acts of kindness can brighten someone’s day.
This program encourages students to build relationships across the entire school and develop a greater sense of empathy. Ava explained, "I get to know people I don't normally talk to" – highlighting the friendships that are formed through these positive interactions. Leah added, "I like Hope Squad because when we ask questions to the kids, it makes people feel happy" – demonstrating how simple check-ins can lift spirits and strengthen bonds.
The impact of Hope Squad extends beyond the school. Brooklyn noted, "I like learning how to be a better person" – reflecting how the program encourages personal growth. Mason emphasized, "It makes people feel good to talk to them, they realize they are special" – showing how students learn the importance of making others feel valued.
We are so proud of the efforts our Jr. Hope Squad members are making to build a more inclusive and supportive school community.
