Subject: Family Promise of Morris County -
How we are handling COVID-19

Family Promise of Morris County is dedicated to providing safe environments for guest families, volunteers and staff.

We are open and continue to serve our community working remotely with those we serve to ensure they are safe and have access to resources, including 24/7 on call Licensed Social Work staff and case management. Modifications to programing include:

  • While we have suspended the Shelter Congregational Program we are serving the guests in that program by providing alternate safe housing and food.
  • Staff continue to work with those in their own apartments and homes in our Housing Program.
  • Outreach Programs have suspended Navigating Hope site visits, Single Stop community visits and all other in-person events, though interaction with guests via phone and email are still an active means of communication.
  • Our Promise Drop-In Resource Center will remain open 2 days per week on Tuesday and Thursday from 1pm – 3pm – to distribute mail and supplies as available.

While we work remotely, staff are available via email and phone messages will be returned in a timely manner. We expect to continue remote work through April 3 rd . Further updates and announcements will become available as they arise.

We pride ourselves in being responsive to our community and taking the lead in community outreach efforts.

Making sure our neighbors in need have shelter and resources is and always will be our first priority.

Sincerely,

Joann Bjornson, LSW
Executive Director
