Family Promise of Grayson County Newsletter October 2021
NTXGivingDay
Our mission is intersecting faith and community to empower
Grayson County families to end child homelessness.

Message from our Director
Happy October!

I'm so glad you're reading this, because we have a LOT going on!

In addition to the sweet family that is in our rotation program, we are serving 25 families in our homelessness prevention program. That includes 60 children who will not have to go through the trauma of homelessness! (That's 19 more children than we were serving this time last month!) It's only through your generosity that this is possible!

Because our Family HOPE (Housing Opportunities to Prevent Eviction) program is growing so rapidly, and to ensure that each family receives optimal services, an additional part-time Case Manager will be joining our staff this month! Tune in next month for the details!

Meanwhile, check out all the other great things happening with Family Promise!

Blessings,
Leigh

Special thanks to T-Mobile staff members Kenneth, Caitlyn, and Jordan who helped load the supplies that will help our guests and volunteers stay healthy. We will be using these items at the Day Center and sharing them with our Host congregations.
Belk Charity Sale
The Belk Charity Sale is a sale dedicated to supporting local Non-Profit organizations. The Charity Sale will be held in every Belk store on Thursday, October 28 through Saturday, October 30 during regular store hours. Throughout October, customers can purchase a $5.00 ticket (with proceeds going to charity) and receive $5.00 off their first purchase. They also will receive (on the same ticket) a 25% off stackable coupon. By purchasing a ticket, customers can support a worthy cause (such as Family Promise) and enjoy special storewide discounts during the sale. Anyone interested in purchasing tickets may call Amyee at 903-771-0322.
We love our congregations and volunteers!
As always, we are so grateful for all the love and gracious hospitality shown to our guests while they are getting back on their feet! Covenant Presbyterian church has been a superstar host, allowing us to stay at their congregation not only during their host week, but also during Grace United Methodist church's week (while their building is being remodeled) and two Open Host weeks! Extra thanks to volunteers from several congregations for filling in during the Open Host weeks. You are making a difference in our community!
Treat others the way God treats you: with kindness and grace. ❤️
