Family Promise of Morris County Wins Awards at
16th Annual Not for Profit Conference

At this year's annual Morris County Not for Profit Conference, the Promising Solutions program was presented with two Not For Profit Excellence Awards for Innovative Programs by the Morris County Chamber of Commerce! The awards recognized the Promising Solutions program, which provides safe, affordable housing for single women in partnership with Homeless Solutions, Inc. and Morris Habitat for Humanity, and our Women’s Veteran’s Housing Program in partnership with Community Hope through Promising Solution’s campus. These amazing and vital programs are made possible through the power of community!

Thank you for providing support to these programs and for helping them succeed in making a difference in so many women's lives!
Navigating Hope's 500th Visit!

This month at Our Promise Outreach Center, our Navigating Hope mobile unit that brings benefits assistance, housing resources, and linkages to social services to all 39 Morris County municipalities reached a 500th trip milestone! Thank you to the Navigating Hope team and Morris County Government for making this work possible!
GUEST STORIES & SUCCESSES
Doug and Barbara Move Home!

Motel Shelter graduates, Doug and Barb, moved into their beautiful, new home this month. Before joining our Motel Shelter Program in June 2021, the couple had been street homeless for over three years. At that time, their only option was to reside in their vehicle. With Doug being terminally ill, the couple’s main goal when entering shelter was to find a stable housing solution.

Motel Shelter staff worked diligently to make this happen. The couple found out in March that they were approved for a housing voucher! Doug and Barb mentioned to their case manager that they were thankful that the Motel Shelter Program allowed Doug to take much better care of himself and his health. They reported they were able to eat healthier meals, schedule and maintain doctors’ appointments, and felt they had ongoing support from program staff.

Thank you to all of you, our volunteers, for helping Doug and Barb feel welcomed, important, and cared for with groceries, gift cards, and essential items they needed throughout their stay in the program. They are grateful for all of it and are amazed at the care and generosity of our volunteers.

We are excited that Doug and Barb have begun a new chapter in life and are enjoying their new space!

HELPING HANDS

It's that time of year when we need to prepare for the oncoming heat! We are in need of new air conditioner units for families to keep cool this summer. A new window A/C unit provides much relief for an entire family and helps to prevent heat-related ailments. If you would like to donate a unit or funds for one, please contact Nora Godown at n.godown@familypromisemorris.org.
