International Women's Day Celebration Event a HUGE success!

Thank you to everyone who supported our 2025 International Women’s Day Celebration Luncheon featuring Tracy Moore, proudly presented by GoYoga Orangeville. This event was held on Friday, March 7th, at Hockley Valley Resort and hosted almost 300 guests.

Thanks to the incredible support from our sponsors, donors and guests, we’re proud to share that this event raised over $92,000—critical funds that will support the delivery of our shelter, counselling and education programs. This is an incredible accomplishment that will help us continue providing safety, support and hope to those who need us in Dufferin and Caledon.

Photos from this year’s event can now be found on the event webpage. Thank you to True Nature Media for capturing special moments from the day.

Women's Care Days

Last week, the Hills of Headwaters Collaborative Ontario Health Team (HOHCOHT) provided two Women's Care Days to the women we serve. The Women's Care Days initiative was developed to provide vulnerable women access to multiple health and social care opportunities, all in one location.

As you can see from this photo, several incredible service providers were on site at our Orangeville location to provide support, information and resources on everything from mammograms to social assistance. Both days were tremendously successful and the HOHCOHT is already working on planning more Care Days to meet the needs of various populations throughout our community.

Orangeville Flyers U16 Donation

Through fantastic team fundraising initiatives last year, players from the Orangeville Flyers U-16 AA Hockey Team raised $3,000 in support of our programs and services.

Head Coach Thomas Witte reached out to us last year to not only offer the team's support, but also request a presentation by our sexual violence (SV) education programming. Our SV educator spent some time with team talking to them about SV in sports and being aware of it is a skill and a strength that can help players know more about their rights, maintain safety within sports organizations, and equip sports organizations, coaches and leaders to mentor young people. Talking about violence and what it can look like also makes sports communities a more welcoming place, so that everyone can enjoy the games that bring us together. Everyone has a role in making sports safe and fun.

We are grateful for partnerships like this as they help our community become stronger, healthier and safer for everyone.

Music in the Hills

On June 7th, 2025, the Kinette Club of Shelburne is hosting an exciting music festival called Music in the Hills—an outdoor drive-in concert taking place at the Mansfield Ski Club. This event will feature local musicians, food trucks and a vendor market.

Proceeds from this event will support FTP's Youth Education programs, which have provided healthy relationship education and mental wellbeing support to over 50,000 students in the Dufferin and Caledon communities for almost 25 years. These programs are largely unfunded and we rely on fundraisers like this one to keep them going.

Please visit the event website for more details and ticket information.
