Harm Reduction Campaign

In the lead up to International Overdose Awareness Day (August 31st), the Dufferin-Caledon Drug Strategy Committee (DCDSC)* is running a Harm Reduction Campaign to raise awareness about the importance of harm reduction strategies.

For more details on this campaign and for details on this year's local Overdose Awareness Day event (more below), hosted by the DCDSC, please visit their Facebook page.

*The Dufferin-Caledon Drug Strategy Committee is a community group composed of like-minded agencies that are working together to support and coordinate the development and implementation of local, comprehensive, cross-sector strategies to reduce the harms related to substance use and/or addictive behaviours.

Overdose Awareness Day Event

SAVE THE DATE!

Every day, we see lives around us being changed and lost to overdose. Overdose does not discriminate. It could be you or someone you love. A friend, colleague or your neighbour.

The DCDSC invites you to learn about local resources, and hear from those with lived experience at this year's Overdose Awareness Day Health Fair.

Thursday, August 28th

4–6 p.m.

St. Mark's Anglican Church | 5 First Ave, Orangeville

Entry is free. Naloxone training and kits will be available.

To stay up-to-date on this event, make sure to follow the committee on Facebook:

Rural Response Program

Ask yourself…

  • Are you feeling unsafe, unheard or controlled in your relationship?
  • Do you feel like you’re walking on eggshells around someone close to you?
  • Have you experienced threats, isolation, manipulation or stalking?
  • Are you unsure if what you’re experiencing is abuse?
  • Do you need help talking through your options?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, FTP's Rural Response Program (RRP) can help. Our counsellors provide SAFETY, SUPPORT and HOPE by reducing barriers to service for women living in the rural communities of rural Dufferin and Shelburne.

FTP’s RRP office is located in Shelburne, but RRP staff are mobile and able to communicate with clients in different ways in order to eliminate barriers. Contact us for free, confidential counselling, advocacy and referral services.

To get more information, please call/text 519-278-4360 or email admin@familytransitionplace.ca.

Community Support

Heartfelt thanks to Julie and Stephen at Hereward Farms for their generous $1,200 donation in support of our programs and services. Your continued support means the world to us!

This incredible donation was raised through proceeds from their seasonal field visits—an experience you won’t want to miss. For just $10 (kids under 5 get in free!), you can stroll through stunning fields of lavender and sunflowers.
