Passover 2022: April 15-23
In Judaism, Passover is the holiday commemorating the Hebrews’ liberation from slavery in Egypt and the “passing over” of the forces of destruction, or the sparing of the firstborn of the Israelites, when the Lord “smote the land of Egypt” on the eve of the Exodus.
During these days, all leaven, whether in bread or other mixture, is prohibited, and only unleavened bread, called matzo, may be eaten. The matzo symbolizes both the Hebrews’ suffering while in bondage and the haste with which they left Egypt during the Exodus.

Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022

Happy Easter! Easter is one of the principal holidays, or feasts, of Christianity. It marks the Resurrection of Jesus three days after his death by crucifixion. For many Christian churches, Easter is the joyful end to the Lenten season of fasting and penitence.

We are looking forward to seeing signs of Spring.

New "dos" are popping up everywhere on Weinberg Campus. Jamie's Salon is scheduling appointments for Dosberg Residents on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All services are billed to residents’ accounts and a gratuity is included so no extra tipping is needed. We are following strict COVID-19 guidelines which only allow one resident to receive service at a time, with time for disinfection taking place between each resident. Contact Deb in the front office, ext. 2462 to schedule an appointment.

Dining Room options extended
Our breakfast and dinner expansion went very well this week and so we will continue breakfasts on Tuesday and Thursday as well as Wednesday night dinner in the dining room.

Protection from the sun
As temperatures are warming up, we will be taking residents outside to sit and take walks around the grounds. It is a good idea to bring in sunglasses and a hat for your loved ones.

Important COVID-19 Reminder
Families can not be in the dining room or at any activities. We will be asking families to leave the area if this is noted. Thank you for helping to keep our residents and staff healthy!

Get to know Dosberg’s new Case Manager
Kaila Brown joins the Weinberg Family as case manager for Dosberg residents. She is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.
“I believe everybody should have a good quality of life and most importantly have options, resources, and tools to improve their circumstances,” says Kaila.

After completing her Bachelor of Science in Social Work at Buffalo State College, Kaila worked as a Certified Case Manager at Schiller Park Senior Center.

She was inspired to work in senior care because of her grandmother, “I am very close with my grandmother. She is wonderful and we enjoy watching classic movies and shopping together.”

When Kaila is not at work, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her pets. She is a foodie and her favorite show to watch is Forensic Files
Kaila is looking forward to her new career here, “I am very happy working at Weinberg Campus. It is a very nice facility with lots of wonderful activities! I am very appreciative and fortunate to get to know all the wonderful residents and team members,” says Kaila.
