Retrieved from the APA - Coming Out Day was founded in 1988 by Richard Eichberg, a psychologist and Jean O'Leary, a gay rights activist, to raise awareness of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and its civil rights movement. They chose October 11th to mark the anniversary of the second major National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, which took place 1987.

Period Action Day: Make Your Own Reusable Menstrual Pads

2/3 of low-income women have trouble affording menstrual hygiene products (Ballard Brief, 2019). We want to end period poverty. To help us, come to Period Action Day! Learn about period poverty, make your own reusable cloth menstrual pad (or make one to donate), and figure out how you can advocate for menstrual equity on campus.

Meet the Student Government Association's Director of Inclusive Excellence |
Hadassah Davidson (she/her) is a sophomore Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major with a Health Communication minor. She is involved in the Asian Student Association, the Wright State University Associate Chapter of Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., the College of Math and Science Dean's Circle, and a CJ McLin, Jr. Scholars Association.
Hadassah's objective this year is promoting student engagement with SGA from underrepresented populations on campus. Visit Hadassah during her office hours 12-2pm Mondays at SIL (190 Student Union) and 12-2pm Wednesdays at the Culture & Identity Centers (023 Student Union).

Come this weekend to the Out Here Dayton film festival. It's our 19th year of celebrating the best of LGBTQIA+ films from around the world with the Miami Valley, and we found it so hard to make decisions that we decided to expand the festival by an extra day! Anyone can get free tickets by clicking the "Scholarship" button toward the bottom of the site. This festival is about creating community, so please come and join for this wonderful opportunity with us.

A collaboration between the WSU Boonshoft School of Medicine, Dayton & Montgomery Country Public Health, and the LGBTQA+ Health Alliance, we invite individuals age 18 and up who identify as Q+ to participate in this health and wellness survey. Responses will be anonymous, the survey can be paused and resumed as needed, and should take approximately 25 minutes. Use the link in title above to begin. Election Protection needs Poll Monitors to assist voters outside polling locations on Election Day. You can help ensure every voter has a right to vote by volunteering with our Election Protection efforts! Poll Monitors answer voter questions and report problems to the Election Protection Hotline. Training will be provided. Sign up to be a nonpartisan poll monitor to ensure no voters experience barriers on your campus or in your community.
