Family and Consumer Sciences Day at Bowling Green State University
As you know, there is a high demand for Family and Consumer Science Educators in our state and we would like to invite current Family and Consumer Science educators and their students who have shown an interest in the field to visit Bowling Green State University campus on President's Day, February 18, 2019. Attendees may come as a group or individually. We will have students and faculty from the FCS program available on the third floor of the Education building, Bowling Green, OH 43403 from 9-3 to answer any questions about our program. Contact Heidi Corbin for information at [email protected]
Help your students earn a 100% full ride Scholarship!
Would your students be interested in observing a child care classroom? Would they want to take a test drive and see if this profession is for them?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, Learning Care Group is offering an opportunity for your students to get on the fast track to a fun, rewarding career all while earning a full ride scholarship for an Associates degree in ECE.

So, how does it work? Simple.

  1. Test Drive – Students observe 20+ hours per semester in our child care classrooms.
  2. Hire – If all goes well with the test drive, the student will begin as a fulltime Lead Teacher and enroll in Penn Foster’s 2-year program.
  3. Scholarship – Enroll in Penn Foster’s accredited online 2-year ECE program.
  4. Grow – Earn 100% free Associates degree (LCG pays for tuition, books, & other fees)

Their future begins now. Help your students be a part of designing a path for children, while finding their own in the process. It’s not only children who learn and grow with us—it’s your students too.

Pilot New Stem Professional Development Modules and Tools
The Center for Global Education at Asia Society has partnered with ACTE and Advance CTE to create online professional development modules that support educators to teach career readiness skills using global content and active, project-based learning.

These 10 new online, 15-minute modules will help educators understand how to make global connections to local STEM issues; create high-quality global STEM projects; assess global workforce readiness skills; connect with classrooms abroad to complete collaborative projects; and teach students to be project managers so they are more successful in completing their projects.

The modules with sample curriculum and other tools and resources are currently being piloted and you can participate! For each module you give feedback on, you will be entered into a drawing for one of two $100 Amazon gift cards. To get started, please visit CTE Learn , create a free log-in, and click on the Career Readiness in a Global Economy: STEM and CTE button.

The modules are all listed there, click on them to get started – you don’t have to view them all or go in order. When you finish each module, be sure to fill out the survey linked from the last screen of the module, to be entered into the drawing—all surveys must be completed by February 15, 2019 to be eligible for entry.
