Seeking Students to host State Fair Cooking Demo
The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) has collaborated with Ohio FCCLA and Ohio’s First Lady, Fran DeWine on a project called “Cooking Healthy Brings Families Together”. This is an excellent opportunity for students to demonstrate culinary skills, leadership and public speaking. They are requesting 3-4 students for a 30-minute cooking demo at the Ohio State Fair, Sunday, July 28 th, at 3 P.M. at the EXPO center in Columbus. The students would get free tickets to the State Fair and free parking.

They would like a student-created, healthy recipe that can be made at home. ODA will purchase the food ahead of time and any supplies needed. There will be electrical access. Please email or call me if you may have some students that would be a good fit. If you are interested or have questions, please email Mandy Monaco, [email protected] and copy Cheryl Hamblin, [email protected] by Friday, July 12 th .
FCS Professional Development Survey
Throughout this next school year and summer 2020, ODE will host Professional Development Sessions for Family and Consumer Sciences Educators. Please take the short six-question   survey   and share with other FCS teachers you may know. The purpose of this survey is to solicit feedback from FCS teachers on what content areas you would like covered during Professional Development sessions.

We want to make the day a meaningful way to get contact hours as well as help assist you in the classroom. Also, use the opportunity to connect with other FCS teachers. Dates for the Professional Development Sessions will be coming soon.
