Tacoma Public Schools and community partners have come together to offer Beyond the Bell to let you choose from more activities at your school than ever before. Choose from options offered before and after school, on data days, and during school breaks.

Youth Soccer

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN THRU SEP.16


Youth Soccer is offered as a part of Beyond the Bell. To sign up for the program with afterschool practices go to COMPASS (the TPS Family App) and look for Beyond the Bell.


If your child does not attend Tacoma Public Schools, or if you would prefer a later practice schedule (held 5-6 pm or 6-7 pm instead of afterschool) CLICK HERE and sign up for community leagues on the Metro Parks website. These teams practice later but play games on Saturday with all of the Beyond the Bell teams.

Metro Parks invites 3-6 year old’s to learn the basics of basketball! Learn how to dribble, pass and shoot!! Parents are encouraged to stay for activity and watch their kids grow and prepare for school age sports!


Triple Impact 3 on 3

Triple Impact Coaching is hosting a 3 on 3 Developmental League at the Eastside Community Center. The league is open to 3rd-5th grade boys and girls.

Preschool and Pre-K at STAR Center

Play, Learn and Grow Preschool and Pre-K


Preschool Ages 3-4: Tues/Thurs 9:30 am-12 pm 

Pre-K Ages 4-5: Mon/Wed/Fri 9:30 am-12 pm 


These half-day programs are designed for fun and learning! Both programs follow Washington State Early Learning & Development Guidelines. Register online today. Classes begin the week of Sept. 12.

End of Summer Blast at the Zoo


September 3-5: 9 am - 5 pm


Join animals around the Zoo in an all-weekend celebration jam-packed with cool activities - literally! Watch animals play with icy treats and summery enrichments. Free with admission.

Harvest Home


September 10: 11 am - 5 pm


Join us at Fort Nisqually Living History Museum to celebrate the sights, sounds, and smells of autumn at the Harvest Home festival. The day will include popular Victorian games, traditional music and dance performances, and the arrival of the hock cart carrying the last sheaf of wheat through the fort to the granary.


Everyone is welcome to come down and press cider, make a corn dolly, and help us send off summer 19th century style.
