Earlier this month, State Representative Kathi-Anne Reinstein announced her resignation from the State Legislature. As a champion for women's issues across the state, Kathi-Anne's presence on Beacon Hill will be missed but her accomplishments never forgotten. The Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus is proud to honor Kathi-Anne's work in the State House as she moves forward into the next stage in her career.

Kathi-Anne Reinstein was first elected to the Massachusetts State Legislature in 1998 at 27 years old, succeeding her late father Representative William G. Reinstein. She has served six terms representing the 16th Suffolk House District encompassing Revere, Chelsea and parts of Saugus. As representative, she moved through the ranks and became the 2nd Assistant Majority Leader and Assistant Majority Whip in the House. She is the youngest female representative to have achieved leadership in the House, and also one of the highest ranking women in the State House.

In the House, Kathi-Anne was Chair of the Women's Legislative Caucus, where she took impressive strides to protect women's rights and bring attention to various women's issues. Most notably, she was instrumental in providing health coverage for women undergoing hormone replacement therapy and securing contraceptive coverage and availability for women around Massachusetts. Kathi-Anne will also be remembered for promoting innovative public education models, which have improved our schools and allowed our children to receive the most comprehensive education from elementary school through to college.

For these reasons and countless others, the Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus honored Kathi-Anne Reinstein at our Annual Tribute to Abigail Adams Awards Ceremony in 2013 for her unwavering, inspirational dedication to women's rights and women's issues statewide.

The MWPC is proud of Kathi-Anne's accomplishments throughout her legislative career, and wish her the best as she moves into the private sector as a Government Affairs Executive with the Boston Beer Company.
