Farewell to the Likers

We hope that you plan to stop by Grace on Saturday, June 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. to give a farewell to Pastor Gary and Brenda. Attendees are to park in the parking lot, walk up the circle drive where they will be greeted by a host. Guests will have the opportunity to chat with Pastor Gary and Brenda, and then exit the area at the other end of the circle drive to return to your cars. There will be a few metal folding chairs available that will be wiped down after use. Please be mindful of safe social distancing practices including staying six feet from each other and wearing a face mask.

As part of our church community's effort to recognize Pastor Gary and Brenda, the Staff Parish Relations Committee is also inviting you to participate in a card shower. If you have not already mailed your card to church, cards can be brought to the gathering on Saturday, June 13. If you want to include a monetary gift, make your check payable to Gary and Brenda Liker.

Summer Small Groups & Welcoming Pastor Jen
Thank you to those who have already reached out or filled out the form!

We are excited to form two types of small groups this summer. Our first goal of gathering in small groups is to form "Welcome Groups" to meet and get-to-know Pastor Jen. We are looking for five more hosts to lead a group that will meet once in July or August. Use the form below to sign up to host. We will share more information about signing up to join a Welcome Group later. The second type of small groups forming will be interest based groups. These groups could include activities like a Bible study, prayer, walking, gardening, service projects, etc. The purpose of these groups are for fellowship and faith formation. Small groups & Welcome Groups will be encouraged to meet in open spaces. Examples include the church fellowship hall, parks, backyards, driveways, decks, etc. Meeting times will be determined by group leaders.

To sign up to be a Welcome Group host use this form or contact Andrea Langhoff .

To express interest in summer small groups and/or to sign up to lead a group use this form or contact Andrea Langhoff .
Rummage Sale Postponement
Our 25th annual rummage sale has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been our tradition for all those years to work together to offer our community amazing rummage sales! The fellowship has been a treasured part of that huge project. It has also been a financial help as money raised went into our general fund to support programs and missions throughout the year. The United Methodist Women also relies on money raised through the bake sale, coffee shop, and lunch counter to promote their mission giving. The plan is to look forward to a time later in the year for this sale. Social distancing will need to be lifted before plans can be put in place for this annual event. If you are interested in being part of that planning process, please contact Bill Wortham, Ad. Council Chair. In the meantime, please do not drop off items for the sale in the garage or attic. If you have a large amount of items to donate, please contact Don Catchpool.
June Mission Focus:
Youth Mission Trip
A note from Andrea:
During my previous four summers at Grace, our June mission focus has been the Youth Summer Mission Trip but like so many other things this spring we were waiting to see what would be decided about our upcoming trip. At the end of May YouthWorks (our mission trip coordinators) made the difficult decision to cancel all summer trips. While we are no longer planning to travel far, we are planning to gather with Grace youth. This week will be our first middle school youth group hang out. We are working on a time for the high school students to gather soon as well. We are also looking into July for service projects and more local activities. While we are not going to West Virginia this summer, we are hoping for an overnight trip and looking forward to summer 2021. Consider supporting these missional efforts this month and let me know if you have ideas for a project our youth can tackle. Thanks for your continued support and prayers, Andrea
Grace Good News: Ruth Buell's Call to Kindness
We want to share good news stories each week in the e-grace. Members and friends of Grace celebrating life's big and small joys! Today we celebrate the efforts of Ruth Buell.

Shortly after the "stay at home" order was put into place Ruth Buell began making phone calls. She called each number listed on the Grace directory! Today we celebrate the Christ-like care that Ruth offered to each of us. If you received a missed call from a 218 number in March, it was probably Ruth. Thank you Ruth Buell for your kindness and dedication to the Grace community.

If you have good news that you would like to share please contact Andrea Langhoff .
Operation Sandwich Donations
