Breakfast from the Farm at the Paris fairgrounds this Saturday is now a walking event and limited tickets are still available!
Tickets are $20 per vehicle and include:
  • Walk through event with displays of farm equipment & animals, ag education booths and real Ontario Farmers!
  • Over $50 of Made-in-Ontario breakfast ingredients including pancake mix, eggs, maple syrup, milk, and more! (Feeds approximately four people.)
Local Food Week:
June 6 - 12, 2022

Local Food Week is a celebration of the bounty of fresh, healthy food grown, produced and processed right here in Ontario. Farmers work every day to grow and produce safe and nutritious food for all Ontarians to enjoy. 

FFCO, in partnership with Agscape, will be hosting three virtual tours across the province showcasing the different types of local food made right here in Ontario. They can be found through the FFCO Facebook page.

Garden chat with Ben and Mark Cullen

Come learn LIVE from expert gardener, author and broadcaster Mark Cullen and his son, farmer Ben Cullen.

Celebrate local food week by hearing tips and tricks to keep your garden growing well this summer!

The event will take place on FFCO's Facebook page where you will have the opportunity to ask Ben and Mark questions during the livestream.
Tenth anniversary fundraising campaign continues
This year marks an exciting milestone for FFCO.

In celebration of its tenth anniversary, FFCO is inviting members, partners and friends to join in anniversary events and campaigns throughout 2022. Show your support by donating a minimum of $10/month or $100 in 2022 to be part of the10th anniversary donors' circle. Donations over $20 will receive a charitable tax receipt.

Ways to celebrate with us:

  1. Become a member or renew your individual membership
  2. Donate $10/month for 10 months
  3. Volunteer at a Farm & Food Care Ontario event, like Breakfast from the Farm
  4. Tell your story and help build public trust in food and farming
  5. Host an FFCO speaker or training session in your community
  6. Attend the summer celebration barbecue August 11
  7. Celebrate Ontario Agriculture Week - October 3-9, 2022
  8. Invite a friend to attend the 2022 Gala celebration

Ag Ambassador resources update

FFCO has updated Ag Ambassador resources on its website for those who are promoting agricultural awareness through events, fairs, etc.

The fact sheets are tools for anyone who has a passion for promoting agriculture in a positive way and wants some help getting started.

The fact sheets cover topics ranging from educational livestock displays to making sure important messages are displayed.

The Ontario Federation of Agriculture is promoting its Farmer Wellness Initiative that provides supports for farmer mental health FFCO is pleased to help spread awareness of this important work.

"Our family appreciates the work that Farm & Food Care Ontario does in building public trust with the consumers about food, farming and agriculture.

As Canadians get ever more removed from the farm, it is becoming increasingly important that consumers understand where their food comes from and the care, dedication and hard work of the farmers who produce it. As a long time volunteer of the Bite of Brant program and Paris Agricultural Society Ag Awareness Committee, I see firsthand how important it is to get this message out to the general public. Engaging the consumer with knowledgeable and accurate information about food quality, animal care and the environment, is critically important work. It’s encouraging to know that FFCO is an important part of the effort to meet that need.

I believe supporting organizations like FFCO through membership will help deliver this important message. Programs like Breakfast on the Farm, farm tours and sharing of resources provide the consumer the information they need to make educated decisions.
