Breakfast from the Farm - London
October 2, 2021
The Western Fair District partnered with Farm & Food Care Ontario (FFCO) to host the third and final Breakfast from the Farm this season at the fairgrounds in London, Ontario, on October 2, 2021.
An estimated 1,800 guests in 520 vehicles viewed livestock and farm equipment displays, met and asked questions of socially distanced local farmers, and received a breakfast bag through contactless pick-up.
The breakfast bag, sponsored by dozens of Ontario commodity groups and agribusinesses, featured all the ingredients needed to make a delicious, all-Ontario breakfast at home, including pancake mix, milk, maple syrup, eggs, apples, pumpkins, cheese, sausages, butter, and more. Bags also included resources like The Real Dirt on Farming. Thanks to all of the project's supporters and partner The Western Fair District.

Meet a Silver Member: Alltech Canada Inc.
Founding Alltech in 1980 and Alltech Canada in 1988 was the beginning of a vision for Alltech founder Dr. Pearse Lyons. He desired to build a business, but he also wanted to ensure that the business would have an impact on our industry and our planet far into the future.
At Alltech, we are working toward a Planet of Plenty™. A planet where science-based solutions help ensure sustainable food production for the global population. A planet where agriculture’s story is central to the development of thriving communities and ecosystems. A planet where, through collaboration and innovation, we can create a world of abundance for future generations.
Our Planet of Plenty vision is not exclusive to sustainability. It’s a vision of a more positive future, full of promise and possibility, and that extends to education, talent development, nutritional and digital technologies, new management practices, innovative ideas, human health, and more.
Alltech has been a proud member and supporter of Farm & Food Care Ontario for the past five years. We understand the importance of building public trust in food and farming and are ecstatic to be a member of an organization that is driving this mandate forward.
We value the work that FFCO is doing on behalf of producers and the agricultural industry and the fit of that work toward our company’s vision for a Planet of Plenty. Every year we encourage our employees to “Make a Difference,” not only in our business but in the communities that we live and work in every day. We are excited for the future as a member of FFCO.
We look forward to seeing this organization continue to grow and continue to “Make a Difference” in the perception of food and farming across Ontario.
