Dear Friends of Riley's Farm:

A High of 72: Wunderground is telling us it's going to be cool tomorrow, for the first official day of fall. We have apples (King David, Honeycrisp, Glen Seedling, and Royal Gala), lots of pears, lots of flowers, lots of PUMPKINS, light berry picking, and TWO LIVE BANDS. Here's our complete harvest map and schedule. If you missed the Harmony Sisters at Big Band night, they will be performing at the Packing Shed tomorrow. (Did you know some places ask musicians to play only for tips? Not us. We pay the pros, because we've always believed apple-picking should be set to good music. Make plans!)

Sleepy Hollow: By the time you get this, we might be able to squeeze you in for opening night, (tonight!) I think there's about 10 seats left.

Emerald City: Progress is being made. I talked to a wise, Irish venture capitalist yesterday who seems very interested in our project, along with a large accounting firm who did the Macy/Gimbels thing ("Miracle on 34th Street"). They referred us to a smaller, more affordable source for audited financials. I thanked them, and they responded, "when you get super big, we want you to remember us kindly." Business, unlike communism, is about helping people. :)

November, The Harvest Feast: An 18th century thanksgiving dinner is not complete without fighting off the craven tools of King George! We need steady friends of liberty with good aim and hearts of oak! Is that you? Of course it is! Fridays and Saturdays in November.

See you soon,

James Riley

Variously called the Cinderella or by its 17th century name, Rouge vif D'etampes . The texture is super creamy, great for pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, and pumpkin soup.
