Farther Along! 7/5/17
I Trow Not! 7/5/17

Luke 17:7-10 (KJV)
7  But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?

8  And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?

9   Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.

10  So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

TROW NOT-a prolonged form of a primary verb doko , dok'-o  (used only as an alternate

in certain tenses; compare the base of <G1166> (deiknuo)) of the same meaning; to

think ; by implication to seem (truthfully or uncertainly) :- be accounted, (of own) please

(-ure), be of reputation, seem (good), suppose, think, trow.

A very special HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY to my one and only GREAT-grandson, Mr. Blaze Taylor!!!

I had the sad honor of visiting a dear fellow Pastor yesterday whose wife in terminally ill from a brain tumor.

I had already driven the 45 minute drive to visit my son Joshua when I pulled in my driveway and received a text advising me of the graveness of her condition.

I quickly gulped down my lunch and headed back in the same direction I had just left.

I arrived to a cluster of friends and loved ones mourning the soon to be glorified saint eternally in Heaven.

It was MY pleasure and HONOUR to be among such wonderful people-I was simply doing my duty as Jesus stated in the above Scriptures.

I also had the pleasure and HONOUR of singing at a soldiers retirement celebration over the weekend-AGAIN, I was simply doing my job/duty as Jesus stated!!!

It is 6:10 AM in the morning and I am up with little Amanda screaming since 4 AM-there is little I can do to calm her and/or ease her suffering.

I am simply doing my duty.

1 Timothy 1:17 (KJV)
17  Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Paul said it all in the above Scripture!!!!

God and GOD ALONE deserve ALL the "HONOUR AND GLORY for ever and ever. Amen."

God and GOD ALONE is the answer to all our PRAYERS and needs!!!

This same Apostle Paul declared:

Romans 8:18 (KJV)
18  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

As I wearily trudged back to my easy chair, the words from a song by Eric Clapton entered my mind, "IF I COULD CHANGE THE WORLD."

Oftentimes, IN THIS LIFE, we are hapless and helpless to alleviate the pain and sufferings of our loved ones.

Many times ALL we can do is SIT "where they sat, and REMAIN there "ASTONISHED."

Ezekiel 3:15 (KJV)
15  Then I came to them of the captivity at Telabib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.

ASTONISHED-a primitive root; to stun  (or intransitive grow numb ), i.e. devastate  or

stupefy (both usually in a passive sense) :- make amazed, be astonied, (be

an) astonish (-ment), (be, bring into, unto, lay, lie, make) desolate (-ion, places), be

destitute, destroy (self), (lay, lie, make) waste, wonder.

We cannot "FIX it!!!!"

Perhaps TODAY you will find yourself in similar situations-YOU can't FIX IT!!!

As the loving husband said yesterday, quoting the old hymn "God has a plan!! We may not know it or understand it, but GOD HAS A PLAN!!!"

" Farther along we'll know all about it

Farther along we'll understand why

Cheer up my brother live in the sunshine

We'll understand it all by and by."

The wonderful old hymn ends with this:

" When we see Jesus coming in glory

When he comes down from his home in the sky

Then we shall meet him in that bright mansion

We'll understand it all by and by."
