PSW Awarded $250,000 Grant to Advance Community Pharmacy Practice

We are proud to announce that PSW, in partnership with CPESN-WI, has been awarded a one-year, $250,000 grant from the Community Pharmacy Foundation (CPF) as part of the Flip the Pharmacy - Demonstrating the Value of Community Pharmacy initiative. The funding provided by CPF will accelerate practice transformation work with Wisconsin Pharmacy Quality Collaborative (WPQC) pharmacies across the state. Through hands-on, tailored coaching, participating pharmacies will enhance implementation of the WPQC medication therapy management (MTM) program and expand services provided under Wisconsin’s new pharmacist provider status opportunity for Medicaid members. Pharmacies will focus on providing comprehensive medication review and assessment (CMR/A) MTM services for patients with uncontrolled asthma. Our goals are to showcase the essential role community pharmacies play in helping patients improve their health outcomes and quality of life and demonstrate the value of these pharmacy services to the patients and current and future payers. We look forward to sharing details on how you can become involved in the coming months.

It’s Time to Renew Your PSW Membership for 2026

Your continued membership helps fuel our shared mission to transform pharmacy practice and improve the health of Wisconsinites. As we look ahead, we’re committed to sustaining momentum through bold leadership, trusted advocacy, and meaningful member connection.

To ensure PSW can keep delivering the value you count on, a slight dues adjustment – less than industry benchmarks – has been made. Student and technician membership dues remain unchanged.

If your membership is paid for by your employer, renewal will occur this fall in coordination with them, and no action is needed at this time.

Drug Pricing & Reimbursement — PSW Advocacy In Action

Momentum is building nationwide to strengthen pharmacy access and fair reimbursement—and Wisconsin is poised to make history next. PSW’s advocacy efforts have driven the state’s comprehensive PBM reform bill to a unanimous vote in the Wisconsin State Senate Committee on Health.

This legislation is designed to bring transparency, fairness, and sustainability to community pharmacy practice. Your engagement matters now more than ever—our unified voice is being heard. Stay tuned for action alerts and consider making a donation to the WPPAC or Legislative Defense Fund to help power this progress forward.

DHS Alert: Tele-Behavioral Health Grant Opportunity

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is offering grants to expand tele-behavioral health access across the state. Through its Division of Care and Treatment Services, DHS will award up to $50,000 per applicant (total funding pool: $200,000) to support technology and infrastructure that increase access to mental health and substance use services.

Notably, recent telehealth policy changes allow pharmacies to serve as “originating sites” – locations where patients can begin a tele-behavioral health session. This creates new opportunities for pharmacists to collaborate with behavioral health providers, enabling patients to connect with care in convenient, community-based settings.

Applications are due November 14, 2025, 11:59 p.m. The grant period runs from January 1 to September 30, 2026. Interested applicants should review the full RFA and application materials here.
