Greetings to Congregational Members from the Generosity and Stewardship Team!
This message is to announce our annual Stewardship Campaign and to notify everyone to be on the lookout for mailings to your home address on file with the church office. We are grateful for your giving of time and money and for your dedication to FPC Oxford. This year, we have three BIG ASKs!!
1- If you are an annual pledged giver, please prayerfully consider increasing your annual gifts by 10 percent to help us meet anticipated expense increases, namely in our associate pastor search.
2- If you are a giver, but do so without an official “pledge”, please consider pledged giving. We like to think of pledges as a promise to God that individuals will give as they can and by pledging, we make these promise known in writing.
3- Lastly… if you have not yet committed to financial gifts to FPC Oxford, we ask that you make it a priority for 2027 and beyond.
And the best part of this notice is… you don’t have to wait until you receive your mailing from the church office to make your giving plans known to our financial secretary, Frances Saralvarez. You can find a pledge card in our friendship register right now and fill it out according to your plans, fold it, and place it in the offering plate during our offering service today. Our Elders will ensure that your plans are kept confidential and deliver them to Frances after worship.
Gratefully,
Generosity and Stewardship Team

| It's that time of year again! Hallowed Hopewell returns this year on October 25 from 5 - 7pm. In order to make sure every trick-or-treater has a spooktacular experience, they are in need of candy donations! You may drop off your candy donations by the church office now until 10/23. Here is Hopewell's Amazon Wishlist in case anyone would like to donate these items to make this Hallowed Hopewell a sweet one! | The next VIP gathering will be on Tuesday, October 27, at Ferg n Dans Pizza off Hwy 30. You will be responsible for paying for your own meal. You are also more than welcome to BYOB. We hope to see a good crowd of you there so we can bond over good pizza and fellowship with one another. | The Fall Bible Study will meet on Wednesdays at 10:00 AM and is open to everyone. This six-week study will explore Amy-Jill Levine’s book, The Difficult Words of Jesus. Levine, a Jewish New Testament scholar, offers an intriguing perspective on some of Jesus’ most confusing and troubling words in the Gospels, inviting us to look at these challenging passages with fresh eyes. We will meet weekly until Wednesday, November 11. If you would like to participate, please just drop in! We hope you’ll join us for this thoughtful and engaging study! | Wednesday's Together are back! Starting next WEEK, we will meet for dinner at 5:30, followed by a discussion at 6:00, which will be lead by our own -- Creighton Holder. Take a glance at the graphic above to see what the 4 week study will be about. As always, each week will feature a different menu. Take a peek below to see what is on the menu for next week! There will be programming for all ages following dinner at 6! | Friday, October 30 at First Presbyterian Church in Oxford, MS - Grab a friend and enjoy this spooky silent film accompanied by a booming, live pipe organ. Free and open to the public! | We would like to invite anyone willing to give up a small part of their Saturday in order to help tidy up the church lawn on November 14. Your help will mostly include cleaning out flower beds, cutting/pulling weeds and laying down pine straw. This will go a long way in sprucing up the front yard. It’s a wonderful and satisfying way of serving your church community. | An Eagle Court of Honor was recently convened to recognize Michael Chaney and Cohen Scruggs as the 100th and 101st Scouts to have earned the rank of Eagle from Troop 45 since 1941. We are proud of this milestone in Troop 45’s history. Pictured here are our two newest Eagles along with Ben Stepp (T 45’s former Scoutmaster) and Steve Mauldin (T 45’s Eagle coordinator). Stop by the Scoutroom to see the Troop’s new Eagle honor roll board which sports all 101 Eagles. We bet you may recognize more than a few names on that roll who are FPC members! | | The Mission team meets the first Monday of each month at 5:30 in the Session Room of the Sanctuary building. Please join us as we seek creative and effective means to serve “the least of these.” If you would like more information, call the church office or contact Laura Montgomery at 662-544-7625. | | |
