Eating Out (Without Filling Out)
By Rebecca Kloss RD, RPT

Do you love going out to eat?

Someone else does the cooking and cleaning while you relax and enjoy great tasting food.

The problem is that the typical restaurant meal can contain more than twice the calories of the same meal you would have prepared at home. They add lots of butter, oil, sugar, salt, etc. to make their food especially delicious.

fancy-eggroll-appetizer.jpgThis makes it challenging to enjoy the restaurant experience without veering off of the road to  meet your health and fitness goals!

You can enjoy your dining experience without guilt!

Top 10 Partner Exercises Using Body Weight
By Angie Menendez, Owner and Instructor of
Karna Fitness and Baby Boot Camp in
Dana Point & San Clemente, CA
In honor of Father's Day this month, we have 10 exercises you can do with your favorite partner - no equipment necessary!

Be prepared to work up a sweat by performing these exercises. Perform each move three times through in order, using a timer for the cardio portion and counting reps during the rest of the workout.

Reverse Table & Tricep Dip:
Partner One will go into a reverse table position: Start seated with your feet flat on the ground and knees bent. Place your hands by your hips and push your hips up into the air. Your fingers should be facing your heels and your hips should be lifted high up with straight arms. Partner Two will place their hands on Partner One's knees and perform a set of 10-15 tricep dips. Partner One is holding an isometric table position, working shoulders, glutes and abs. Partner Two will be working their triceps. Switch roles and repeat.

Summer Workout Must Haves
By Cassidy Carow, Owner and Instructor of Karna Fitness &
Baby Boot Camp in Panama City, FL

Send your favorite gear to Cassidy!

Exercising outside during the summer isn't always the easiest thing to do but, if I'm armed with the right gear, it's made a little easier.

Watches

I am a goal-oriented girl, so I like to know how far I've run, especially when I could easily let the heat talk me out of a workout or a little extra distance. Many runners love their Garmin watches. These fancy watches are more than  timepieces: they can track distance, pace, heart rate, calories, and some even function as pedometers, too!

If these aren't your cup of tea, there are some very user-friendly (and free!) apps like Runtastic or MapMyRun.
