What's Fresh at the Saturday Market:
Summer means grilling. This Saturday, the Market features steaks, hamburgers, pork chops, chicken, portobello mushrooms, squash, zucchini, and more to put on the grill. Add a simple fresh mixed lettuce salad with carrots and radishes and it’s a perfect simple summer meal! Thirty-three farmers/producers will also bring snap peas, blueberries, strawberries, sour cherries (great for pies), kale, Swiss chard, cucumbers, turnips, spring onions, kohlrabi, stir-fry mixes, tilapia fish, oysters, hand-picked crabmeat, honey, jams, freshly-laid eggs, A-2 milk, yogurt, butter, kombucha, cold pressed juices, fresh-baked breads, pastries and cookies made with fruit from the Market, fresh coffee drinks, herb, veggie, and flower plants, beautiful cut-flower bouquets, and so much more!
The Historic Lewes Farmers Market is unique in that it is producer-only—at this Market customers buy directly from the farmer who grew the produce. Only vendors who grow, raise, or produce what they sell are allowed in this market. A true farmers market!

At 10 am in the Demo Tent, Kindle Executive Chef Ian Crandall will be preparing an all-mushroom demo, in memory of Dale Langrehr's (Davidson’s Exotic Mushrooms) passing this year. He will be making seared shiitake caps filled with homemade ricotta (using Nice Farms milk), topped with Jackie Blues lump crab meat. HLFM's Food Pantry Purchase Program—
Help Your Favorite Farmers
and Local Food Pantries
HLFM customers who want to help feed the local community with fresh local food may purchase produce, meats, milk, and other food from growers at the Market to donate to the local Food Pantries, including Epworth and Casa San Francisco Food Pantries, every Saturday. It’s so easy--all you have to do is let the vendor know what you want to donate or give $5, $10, $25 to the grower and ask them to put together a selection for the food pantries. The farmer gets your sale, and the food pantry gets the local food. We thank you for your generosity!
