To help promote the achievement of boys of color, the RCSD is collaborating with a number of community organizations to offer a unique networking opportunity.
Organizations such as Healthy Baby Network, Healthi Kids, North Star Rites of Passage, and ROC City 48 will offer learning resources, legal information, and other support that will help remove barriers so men in our community can better assist students to achieve academic success.
Studies show that when a father is involved in a student's life, that child does better academically and has a greater opportunity to graduate, go on to college, and develop the skills necessary for a successful career.
This event is the same day as the NFL Pro-Bowl game and fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and young men will be watching the game together as an opportunity for camaraderie.
There will be panel discussions from individuals in the community including three fathers whose sons have excelled as student athletes at Division I colleges.
