Just to give you a heads-up, San Bernardino County has recently moved from the low to the medium risk tier for COVID. Our RUCC COVID policy was written to anticipate the movement between risk tiers. To see our RUCC COVID policy in its entirety, go to:

• Masks are not required for adequately vaccinated individuals
• Communion celebrated indoors with individual elements

- Carla Becerill's cousin Debbie is in the hospital.
- Mary Lou Haney fell and is being observed in the ER.
- Prayers for Mary Mortensen and her family: both Mary and Larry are recovering from cataract surgery, Mary's son-in-law is being scheduled for surgery for a brain tumor, Larry will be undergoing deep brain stimulation for tremors, and Mary's former husband is starting chemo for Stage II bladder cancer.
- Prayers for Ben Bohren, who tested positive for COVID, which forces postponement of his hip replacement surgery.
- Eliza Ames requests prayers for her sister Diane’s family. Their son passed from life to Life yesterday.
- Prayers for Jim Sommer who has been hospitalized but who is now recuperating at home..
- Prayers for Ryan Zappia as he begins a new job in Massachusetts
- Prayers for Missy Rucker who has tested positive for COVID.
- Prayers for the family of Joseph Alfano, father of Lisa Dewey, who passed from life to Life.
- Prayers for the sister of Connie Roener, Diane Reading, who is recovering from surgery for the removal of colon cancer.
- Prayers for Sue Hammond who underwent a successful cardiac procedure at Loma Linda.
- Mary Melcher requests prayers for a friend’s daughter who overdosed, but survived. Prayers for a nation who is more understanding about mental illness and the treatments they require.
- Judith Turian requests prayers for healing for Marie Rientord who has been diagnosed with shingles on her face.

- Prayers for Scott, son of Dick Ault, who had three heart attacks in one morning and is recovering in the ICU.

The safest communities aren’t the ones that are policed most heavily.
They’re the ones that receive robust investments in education and quality of life.
Stop pouring money into violent “solutions.” They will not free us. That was never their design.

Paying Attention
“Pay attention,” Barry Lopez, one of our greatest writers, constantly exhorted us. Mary Oliver, our universally beloved poet, said, “To pay attention…this is our endless and proper work.” Paying attention is what we deeply need for our shared journey into an uncertain future. If Lopez had a subject, it was not the natural world only. It was justice, and all the ways in which our lives are shaped by the recovery of a sense of reverence for life.
What we are learning in our time is that the land and people are fundamentally linked, that a disregard for both could ruin us all. This moment is our opportunity to return to an essential awareness that belonged to our ancestors: a deep ecology of consciousness, an entirely different way of approaching, perceiving, experiencing and interacting with the natural world and with each other… the inseparable link between environmental justice and social justice.

"Pastor Is In" has been renamed "Pastor Is Out" for the duration of Jill’s sabbatical. Join us at 12 noon every Wednesday on Zoom. It is a meet and greet started during the pandemic and continuing because we like it.
We just catch up with each other sharing our week and what’s ahead.
Sometimes we talk about current events when something has been impactful. Or someone’s upcoming wedding, work, a joy or a concern. Definitely not therapy. But a supportive friend group.

My Work To Do is an online affinity group designed to help white people build stamina for discussing racism, systemic injustice, racial healing, reconciliation, and justice in their everyday lives.
We invite those feeling lost or overwhelmed into the conversation, especially white people who might not have a local anti-racism program or accessible discussion happening in their life
My Work To Do is now offering registration for two classes discussing racial justice. "Getting Started" and "Pop-Ups" will be held on zoom from late June until late July.

New beginner's Tai Chi Class Starts Thursday, June 16 |
A new series of beginner's classes will begin on Thursday, June 16, and continue through August 18. The classes will be held in Covenant Hall from 6 to 7 p.m. If you weren't able to work the first classes into your schedule, you have another chance to improve your balance and flexibility with this ancient Chinese practice. |
