The return of the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival marks a special time for our community, and we’re excited to welcome everyone back for this long-standing tradition. I’m looking forward to a weekend filled with outstanding entertainment, a wide variety of vendors and the shared experiences that truly showcase the spirit of Fayetteville.
If you plan to attend events at Festival Park, please note that a clear bag policy will be in effect. All bags must meet the required size and transparency guidelines to be permitted the venue. I encourage everyone to review the policy in advance and plan accordingly. You can find more information about the policy at FayettevilleNC.gov/ClearBagPolicy.
As we gather to celebrate, I would also like to recognize an important achievement within our organization. The City’s Fleet Division has been named one of the 100 Best Public Fleets in the Americas for 2026. This distinction reflects the team’s strong commitment to innovation, efficiency and dependable service for our residents.
Lastly, I want to extend sincere appreciation to Terrance Roberson, Street Maintenance Supervisor with our Public Services Department, for 39 years of dedicated service to the City of Fayetteville. His professionalism and steady leadership have made a meaningful and lasting impact on our community.
Enjoy the weekend and take advantage of the many events happening throughout the City, from a local baseball game to community efforts like Fayetteville Beautiful and more.
Best,
Dr. Douglas J. Hewett
