City Manager's Report

March 27, 2026 | FayettevilleNC.gov

The Latest from Doug

We have a lot to look forward to in the coming days, and I want to personally invite you to be part of it.

Next Wednesday, April 1, we’re hosting a First Look at our new tennis facility, The Courts at Glenville Lake, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a chance for you to explore the tennis center before the grand opening and connect with our Parks and Recreation team to learn about the programming opportunities that will be available.

Tonight, Fourth Friday returns to Downtown Fayetteville. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., you’ll be able to enjoy live music, performances, food trucks, local artists and vendors throughout the downtown area. And what a beautiful evening to come out and be part of the fun.

Baseball season is almost here. Next Friday, April 3, the Fayetteville Woodpeckers will kick off the season at Segra Stadium. Opening night is always special, and it’s a great time to come together and support our team. If you’ve never been, I would highly encourage you to join us as we cheer them on and hope for a win!

And we’re just getting started. Events like the Dogwood Festival are right around the corner, giving us even more reasons to come together, celebrate and enjoy everything our community has to offer. These moments remind us why we work every day to make Fayetteville a City we’re proud to call home.

Best,

Dr. Douglas J. Hewett
