City Manager's Report

November 26, 2025 | FayettevilleNC.gov

The Latest from Doug

As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday, I want to take a moment to share my appreciation for the people who make Fayetteville the “Can Do” City. Our employees continue to show dedication in every area of service. Our residents stay engaged and committed to moving our City forward. And our business community brings energy, innovation and resilience that strengthen Fayetteville every day. I’m grateful for each of you.

As many prepare to travel for the holiday, the Fayetteville Police Department encourages residents to take advantage of the free House Check Program. If you will be away from home, you can request a House Check and patrol officers may conduct random checks of your residence while you’re gone. This added layer of security helps protect your property and provides peace of mind during your travels. Residents can submit a request online by visiting the Fay PD webpage, navigating to Community Policing & Engagement, then selecting “Request a House/Party Check. The department also reminds everyone to stay alert and aware while shopping and driving throughout this busy week.

And as we move into the Black Friday weekend, I encourage everyone to support local businesses during Small Business Saturday. Shopping local keeps dollars in our community and supports the entrepreneurs who help make Fayetteville unique.

City government offices will be closed Thursday and Friday in observance of Thanksgiving. As always, essential public safety services will remain available.

I hope you and your families have a cheerful and wonderful Thanksgiving.
