Healing Mass

This Friday, June 9th we will offer the holy sacrifice of the Mass for the bereaved and those in need of general physical and spiritual healing. Please join us at St. Julian Eymard Church at 7:00pm.

At this Mass, we will offer prayer as a community for the healing of the bereaved. All are invited to bring a photograph or memento of a loved one to help focus prayer in a particular way. Before the final blessing, the presider will process with the Monstrance, and you will be able to hold your photo or memento toward Jesus.

Additionally, members of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Prayer Shawl Ministry will be on hand to share prayer shawls—a way to literally wrap someone in prayer. All are invited!

Feast of Corpus Christi Procession & Parish Picnic

This Sunday, June 11th, we will celebrate the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ with a Procession, followed by a Parish Picnic. We will begin following our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, singing and praying along the way, and end with fellowship.

Priests’ Health and Retirement/PRMAA provides for the health and well-being of more than 700 active and retired archdiocesan priests.

Your generous contribution next Sunday, June 11th is greatly appreciated.

Season for Life

Life is a precious gift from God! Each year our Respect Life Ministry celebrates that gift from Mother's Day to Father's Day with a Season for Life. Together, with our partner agencies, we are helping to create a culture that respects life from conception until natural death. If you haven't dropped off donations or purchased Father's Day cards, please do so before June 18th. Thank you for your support, and we hope to see you at the Spiritual Adoption Baby Shower, see below for more info:

The Respect Life Ministry invites all to celebrate the birth of our "Spiritually Adopted" babies with a baby shower following the 10:30 am Mass on Sunday, June 18th, at Queen of the Rosary Church. Come and celebrate by indulging in pastries, coffee and juice as we mark the birth of those babies we spiritually adopted back in October.

The Respect Life ministry thanks all those who "adopted" a baby and prayed for it during these last 9 months. Let us celebrate new life coming into the world!

Father's Day is Sunday, June 18th! Find thoughtful cards for Father's Day in our church vestibules. The requested donation is just $5 per card, and proceeds will benefit Illinois Right to Life's Project Love. Pick up cards to honor all the dads and dad-like figures in your life!

Welcome the Stranger

Fr. Dan, Fr. Louis and the Parish-Family Liaison Team are pleased to share that on June 3rd, Italo, Jugla and Chloe moved into a garden apartment in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago. The monthly rent for this apartment is $950. Not only is this amount about half of what we could find for locations closer to Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, it seems achievable for the family once they have established residence and found work.

As we continue walking with the family, helping them to make a home here in Chicagoland, we will continue to share updates with you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the parish office, or set time to meet with Fr. Dan.

Music Notes

Please take note of our schedule for Charismatic Mass, Adult & Kid's Choir and Guitar Group. All other liturgies will feature our talented Cantor & Accompanist tandems leading sung prayer. Whichever liturgy you attend, please join in and help us make a joyful noise!

Gospel in Focus

June 11, 2023 Jesus tells His disciples that His body and blood are true food and drink, and that we need to

partake in His body and blood to have eternal life... “Jesus said to them, ‘Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.’” —John 6:53

Discussion Questions

How do you think the disciples felt when Jesus told them to eat His flesh and drink His blood? How would you have felt if you were there?

Why do you think Jesus wanted to give us the Eucharist?

What can you do during Mass to help get in the right mindset during the Transubstantiation?
